On tap at Founders. Pours a rich black with a thin brown head. Coffee, toasted malt, and burnt sugar aromas give way to coffee and molasses flavors as the beer warms. Sits a bit heavy on the back of the tongue, but nice and creamy.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2010 Bottle. Pours oh so dark with a creamy medium-sized tan head. Aroma and flavor are wonderfully complex: bitter and milk chocolate, a bit of coffee, some licorice, a touch of bitterness (mostly from the roast), some aromatic hops. Understated sweetness. Finishes dry. Creamy mouthfeel. One to savor.

Nice aroma of chocolate and roast. Pours an opaque black, with just a touch of light tan head. Nice rich roasted flavors start this off, with notes of chocolate and coffee. Long roasted finish with this one. This is quite a tasty porter, and one I’ll be picking up more of during this autumn.
