12 oz bottle. Pours super dark brown, almost black. Light mocha head. Aroma is super dark roasted coffee and burnt nuts, in a good way. Only hints of something sweet, but just faint. Little sweetness then a great roasty bitter finish. This is not harsh by any means and is a great example of how to get dark roasted flavors into a beer while making it incredibly drinkable.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 potbeercollege (1322) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 4, 2010
Bottled. Black with a large light brown head. Aroma is roasted nuts and coffee and a ton of vanilla. Flavor is also roasty, in a very smooth brew that has notes of chocolate, buts and coffee...well done and straightforward.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 vtafro (1550) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - JUN 3, 2010
Bottle. Black pour with some tan head. Coffee, and dark malts with some light bitter hop aromas. Caramel, chocolate and roasted malt flavors are slightly sweet, but not overly, not so much hop presence and the texture is very nice for a porter.
