Dark, Rich, and Sexy. Chocolate malts and four varieties of hops make this a very full flavored ale.

Black beer with huge head that fades fast. Aroma is great with a lot of chocolate and roasted malts. They do come back in the taste, but because the beer is highly over-carbonated, they are far less present than in the nose. Which really is a shame. Would the carbonation have been better, this porter would surely deserve a 4+ rating.

Ah, now that’s a porter! Pours oily brown with a bit of head that leaves tons of lacing. Lots of roasted coffee and a little chocolate and smoke in the nose. Taste is similar with a nicely bitter finish.

Black with a bubbly, soapy head. Coffee - loads of it -, some coffee, cream. Sharp hoppy dark taste with some roasted nuts. Nice tingling mouthfeel. Tasty! (At the De Molen brewery tasting.)

Bottle at monthly tasting @ De Molen. Black pour, foamy tan head. Aroma is roasty, coffee, chocolate, somewhat burnt and a hint of fruits and alcohol. Flavor is roasty, coffee, caramel and some licorice. Overly carbonated.

12oz bottle. Pitch black pour with razor thin head but a little cling to the glass. Nose is not very strong but ample in roasted malts, coffee and a touch of vanilla. Taste is basically roasted malts and coffee. Very well balanced and none if that metallic taste I find in many porters. Fairly light on the palate for a porter. Good stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Creamy chocolate taste with coffee and hop notes. Wow, really nice, especially for a lower abv beer.

(Bottle) Pours black with a creamy light brown head. The aroma is very chocolaty with undertones of blackberries, blueberry jam, subtle dark fruits, asphalt and mild coffee roast. Wow – the malt profile is just fantastic. Perfectly balanced aroma-hops on the nose. A light milkiness also present. The flavour is light to medium sweet and light to medium bitter. A light acidic sting is notable just as the beer hits the tongue. Lots of smooth roast and creamy chocolate. Nice hoppy finish with some roast. The mouthfeel is velvety and round with a light to medium carbonation. Medium bitter ending. Fantastic malt profile in the flavour as well. Medium bodied.
