4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Marsiblursi (2371) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JAN 6, 2012
(Bottle) Pours black with a creamy light brown head. The aroma is very chocolaty with undertones of blackberries, blueberry jam, subtle dark fruits, asphalt and mild coffee roast. Wow – the malt profile is just fantastic. Perfectly balanced aroma-hops on the nose. A light milkiness also present. The flavour is light to medium sweet and light to medium bitter. A light acidic sting is notable just as the beer hits the tongue. Lots of smooth roast and creamy chocolate. Nice hoppy finish with some roast. The mouthfeel is velvety and round with a light to medium carbonation. Medium bitter ending. Fantastic malt profile in the flavour as well. Medium bodied.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 magdalar (292) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - DEC 31, 2011
Draught. Pours black with a tan head. Smells of roasted coffee malt. Tastes a strong bitter, smoky, roasted malt, a slow hint of chocolate to sweeten it slightly. Very smooth and creamy. Finishes a bit dry and bitter. An ideal classic porter.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 jackl (389) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 30, 2011
Bottle. Pours a deep brown color with a tiny tan head. The nose is filled with roasted malts, bitter chocolate, smoke, espresso. The taste is balanced between sweet chocolate notes and bitter roasted flavors. Some smoke. The hops show in the slightly bitter finish. The finish is a bit wet. The body’s medium, the carbonation active on the tongue. The beer’s a bit too acidic/astringent. the texture is oily. Overall, a very good, flavorful porter, acidic finish considered.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Steeeve (305) - Ambler, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 30, 2011
Dark brown pour with barely any head. Wonderful aroma of dark roasted malts, with chocolate, coffee, and a bit of leather. Taste is rich and roasty, slightly dry, with a bittersweet chocolate finish. Really opens up as it warms. Palate is quite robust and fantastically easy to drink. One of the great porters.

Chocolate aroma with a hint of dark fruit. Deep dark brown a tan subdued head. Mild bitter start , then sour which then surprisingly finishes clean. I can feel lots of carbonation on my tongue which is unlike most Porters I’ve had. Feels thinner than other porters I’ve had. Refreshing and easy to drink.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 jfenglish (325) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 16, 2011
Thick black dark tan head, bitter chocolate and licorice aroma. Dark roasted malts, pine hops, and dark chocolate on the palate. More pine cone hop finish. Not as thick as the aroma would indicate but still very rich and tasty.
