On tap at Rattle & Hum, New York.
Thin off white head. Clear deep pour. Lots of chocholate in the aftertaste. Yummy!

Man, stingy bitch*s rating this beer. It simply doesn’t get any better than this. One could mount a niggling criticism that it is mislabeled as a porter, as many have noted, and certainly there is truth in this charge. However, once you get passed that, you can drink it for what it is: the best porter in the world (and if you take it as a stout, among the best of that genre as well). Contrary to the previous evaluator, I rate the carbonation as a major strength, but I personally dislike weak carbonation of stouts of the Guinness variety. But this stuff by the truckload!

Almost perfect...if it wasn’t for the over-carbonation it would be a perfect 100 for me. Black dark color....chocolate and coffee aromas. Taste: Dark Chocolate, coffee, some caramel hints....amazing after taste. Best Porter I ever had.
4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 reverendj (137) - Brunswick, Georgia, USA - DEC 4, 2011
Bottle from the Taliban. I think they mislabled this bottle. Surely this is approaching a stout instead of a porter. Inky black pour with a dense head that fades quickly. The nose is great with floral hops and roasted malts. No wonder this style counts as food! The body is very creamy and full. Sweet and smokey up front with a hoppy finish full of coffee and chocolate. Possibly the best porter I’ve tried.

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2012 bottle - gorgeous porter. Pitch black pour with dissipating beige head. Dark, rich malts, with plenty of roasted character, dark chocolate. Sweet caramel and brown sugar. Hint of pine and orange peel. Some mineral character on the nose that detracts somewhat. Body is smooth and milky. Delicious.

Easily the best porter I have ever had. 12 oz bottle to pint glass. Pours black with small tan head. I get lots of chocolate and coffee. Taste is sweet, but dry, with very good short bitter finish--complex does not really describe it. Velvet in the mouth.
