| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 11, 2009 Bottle courtesy of DA from Fever. Thanks! Dark opaque brown pour and a tan head. Definite roast and coffee scents. Not much sweetness here....nice black coffee and dark bitter chocolate flavors. Slightly a little more watery than I would have hoped, but still a sensational beer. joeneugs (371), Livermore, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 4, 2009 Thanks Ucusty! Pours very dark brown with no light passing through. It has a minimal disappearing brown head. The aroma is chocolaty and lactic with hints of roasted malt. The flavor is rich with milk chocolate, nuts, very subtle fruitiness, and ends very roasted and bitter. I especially liked the finish. Overall a very good strong porter. Milky and not too sweet. demdeac40 (243), Etowah, North Carolina, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 2, 2009 Beautiful dark pour with a creamy brown head. Nose is heavy with dark chocolate and coffee. Nice roast and then a hint of sweet. Smoky, creamy and a nice dollop of dark chocolate on the palate. Smooth with just enough bitter on the finish. This beer and I shall be good friends this winter. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 1, 2009 Bottle; wonderful dark chocolate body with a moderate tan head. Aroma of bittersweet chocolate, strongly smokey and roasted, and slightly licorice. Flavor is strongly dominated by roasted barley, toffee sweetness, coffee and chocolate everywhere, slightly caramel, smokey, and the hops are indistiguishable. Palate is fantastic as well: almost creamy, just-right carbonation, not overly intoxicating. A life changing porter. mspindler (351), Alta Loma, California, USA

Aroma is coffee, cinnamon, cooked fruits, and roast. Flavor is Roasty coffee, dust, hints of fruit and vanilla. Medium to full bodied with somewhat low carbonation. roder60 (1039), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 28, 2009 Pours a beautiful dark black with a nice layer of foamy tan head that lasts. Aroma is really really roasty with a tad bit of caramel chocolate sweetness. Flavor is very bitter and roasty, a lot like a good cup of double shot expresso late with a nice dollop of vanilla. Overall, very very good beer.
