COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pours silky black with a creamy tan head. The nose is sweet with strong chocolate and caramel malt presence. No absence of hops gives Foundersí robust porter the full flavor you deserve and expect. Cozy like velvet. Itís a lover, not a fighter.

Bottle from GBBF 2014 and drunk at home. I know Iíve had this before, Iíve just never rated it. Bizarre, seen it on shelves for years in the UK but only just now got around to rating it. Black beer lasting tan head. Big chocolate on the aroma. But smooth chocolate. Wow. Itís just like drinking pure chocolate. Sheet, that is really nice. Cozy like velvet? Check. A little bit of milkiness perhaps. But itís just so damn good. so drinkable. Lovely. Poised delicate all enveloping, lots of chocolate but never papery or thin. Just the right balance of everything. Just a bit of milk perhaps. Lovely though.

Coudy very dark brown color, average sized brownish head. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Very strong chocolate aroma, some coffee and nuts. Medium sweet taste, with some mild bitterness. Texture is creamy and oily. One of the best porters out there, no doubt.

Dark as hell, big tan head. The greatest tasting foam ever. I usually donít even try to taste only foam without a liquid, but this one looked delicious. The taste was delicious as well. Like some mousse chocolate pudding or something like that. The beer itself has a huge chocolate and coffee aroma, with some caramel, cocoa, nuts and traces of vanilla. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Finish is pleasant bittersweet coffee and chocolate. The bestest!

The hops in this porter are a great compliment otherwise I wouldn't score it as high. Chocolate on the nose and a rich, dark chocolate, velvety taste. Overall a pretty damn good porter. One of my go to's. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not much head. Pleasant chocolate and maybe yeasty aroma. Good malty flavor well balanced with just enough hops.

The aroma is burnt malt, coffee, chocolate, and hops. The appearance is dark dark dark brown with a small head. The taste is like the aroma and quite bitter without much sweetness. The palate is smooth. Overall a good example of the style, itís definitely quality, but itís not sweet enough and personally I think itís overrated.
