Draft. Pours a dark black, with a thick brown head. Aroma of malt and coffee. The flavor contains the above elements, and also notes of chocolate. Nicely balanced by hops, although a bit less hoppy than most other porters. A bit stout-like, even. Excellent, creamy mouthfeel. One of the best porters that I’ve ever had.

Pours out dark with a quickly disbursing head. Rich aroma of whole grains, toast and coffee. Full flavors of toast, coffee with a nice bitter finish with notes of resin and citrus.

Pours black with a dissipating tan head. The aroma is of toast, dried fruit, leather and some alcohol. The taste is very well balanced - up front, toasty and complex malt, medium body that accentuates the richness of the malt, slight bitter hop and chocolate finish to kill the sweetness. This is great.

Bottle at the Sheffield Tap. Very enjoyable. Quite a striking coffee aroma. Thick chocolaty taste, really loaded, quite a dry burnt crispy coffee finish.

Pretty dark pour with little bit of khaki colored head. Smells of roasted coffee dominates, chocolate, cocoa. The coffee comes through a lot on the taste as well as some smoke and burn. Roastiness, little bit of sweet in the form of chocolate/cocoa. Some bitter on the tongue afterwards but not overly. Medium bodied, slick. Strong porter overall, need to try with a cigar.

This is about as good as it gets. Rich, Dark, malty with a chewiness that really is in the mix with some of the best robust porters on the market. The chocolatiness slightly overpowers the grainy burntess, and the aggressive bitterness is on the back end. Just a top notch beer.

I had this at Bar Louie in Novi with BeerBaron617 the other night. It was from a pretty fresh keg, so it was especially tasty. I am slowly growing in to porters and stouts, and this one proves to make the grade for me at this time.
A great black pour with a medium tan head that leaves quickly. It’s got a great aroma of chocolate and coffee, typical of porters, and the nose translated to the taste. Very great body/mouth feel, not too thick, not too thin, just right. It’s got a great flavor.

Pours a viscous black, not much foam. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, maybe a hint of licorice. Creamy mouthfeel. Taste is a nice roasty coffee flavor, lots of dark chocolate. Fantastic.
