COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pours silky black with a creamy tan head. The nose is sweet with strong chocolate and caramel malt presence. No absence of hops gives Founders’ robust porter the full flavor you deserve and expect. Cozy like velvet. It’s a lover, not a fighter.

This is my favorite Porter. It surpasses the others by providing an excellent overall experience. Pours smooth with a minimal toffee colored head. Malty and roasty with coffee, fruit and cocoa, balanced by some hop floral dryness toward the end. Dare I say a "sessionable" porter. Perfect for the colder months in the snow belt. Founders nailed this one.

From a bottle. Can’t believe I haven’t tried this before, it’s everything I expected in a great example of style, loved it.

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2016 Pours thick like burnt oil, very little foam. Intense coffee nibs aromas present at first, dark Mexican chocolate second. Alcohol content is not obvious, intense earthy tastes throughout, Italian espresso, burnt sugar. Great beer.

Quarter of a litre at Celle Bierfest. Almost jet black, opaque, extreme tanned head.Lots of lacing, clung to the glass. S: More hops than other porters but not overly pronounced, gave way to a some fruits. T: High on sweetness and molasses, dwarfed the dark chocolate and espresso, finished like a Belgian dubbel. M: Thick texture, really smooth, silk in a glass. O: Good desert beer, really slid down well.

A macchiato with one sugar. Silky smooth & luscious - full of darkness but perfectly balanced. A good all round porter. Rated by BrewTom

Pours a pitch black color with medium tan colored head. Roasty aroma, coffee, dark fruits, molasses, with cocoa and also a vinous character. Taste follows the aroma, very roasty, with molasses, toffee, coffee, chocolate, licorice and slightly vanilla, with a hoppy and bitter finish to it.

Fruit notes in the aroma that transfers in the body. Coca malt balances the robust profile.

Pours head-high with minimal lacing after; appears rich and shutter-dark, with plum highlights when held against the sunlight. Smells like alcohol-infused pumpernickel bread with a tinge of citrus. The taste is sweeter than it is bitter due to the preponderance of roasted malt, but the hop presence here is a little stronger than a traditional porter’s. Mouthfeel is chewy and thick, and the aftertaste of black coffee (or 80% dark chocolate, if you prefer) lingers. Very drinkable even for people who don’t like bitterness because the malt defines the direction and the result is more like a chunk of slightly sweetened dark chocolate than a handful of mountain ash berries or a stringent aperitif.

To jest to co Tygryski lubią najbardziej. Pachnie niesamowicie. W nos uderzają nuty czekolady, kawy z mlekiem, ciesteczek ala Pieguski, kakao.

At Gourmet Experience, after lunch with Pedro & David. In wine cup. Enjoyable but too much expensive for what it is (4.5?) Watery texture body but with a good hops background that compensates it
