COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pours silky black with a creamy tan head. The nose is sweet with strong chocolate and caramel malt presence. No absence of hops gives Founders’ robust porter the full flavor you deserve and expect. Cozy like velvet. It’s a lover, not a fighter.

Really nice full but not overwhelming porter. Tastes like it borders being an imperial stout. This is well balanced and very smooth to drink. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(1548-090715)

Pours a completely black, topped with almost no head to speak of, just a tiny tan cover. Mildly roasty aroma, nice chocolate notes. Mild taste, gently roasty, slightly sweet. A bit of caramel and a hint of bitterness. Nicely drinkable, very gentle. I like it.

Dark dark brown pour with khaki head. Nose is plenty of roast and caramel, dark coffee, a little burnt toast note. Flavor include more burnt toast, caramel and rich bitter coffee. Espresso, mild sweetness in the finish. Perhaps some darker fruits, but I’m not positive. Maybe dark currants? Either way, medium body, and super solid. 1642015

355ml bottle from BeerGeek Bottle shop. Black with a creamy, tan head stay long. Roasted notes in the nose, coffee, cocoa, chocolate. Creamy and smooth mouthfeel, medium carbonated, full-bodied. Rich flavor, chocolate, caramel, toffee, earthy hops that give a little bitterness in the finish.

Tasted from bottle. Pours black with brown head. Aroma is big time chocolate and a little caramel. Taste is moderate bitterness and mild to moderate sweetness. Flavors of chocolate, coffee, and caramel. Definitely a top tier Porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a jet black color with minimal head retention and average lacing. It smells like cocoa and toasted malt. Tastes like roasted malt and chocolate. A very good porter and one that I would order again and again.

Tried at same time as Bell’s porter. The Founders has a much stronger coffee flavor on both the tongue and finish. If that is your preference you might like founders more. I preferred the Bell’s for not being as strong and having more choxo late than coffee flavor.

Black with an orangeish head. Burnt malt with vanilla and citrus. Burnt malt with smoke and chocolate. Medium body with a crisp palate and lingering charred after taste.

Pours very dark brown with an off-white head. Nose shows nutty, bready and roasted malt sith some soft coffee notes. Flavours include soft roasted malt, toasty notes, a little bit of sweet malt and a chestnut character.
