Dark, Rich, and Sexy. Chocolate malts and four varieties of hops make this a very full flavored ale.

Pours out very dark brown, little tan head. Smells of chocolate and roasted coffee. This beer is as smooth as they come. Every drink makes you want to take another bigger, longer one. This is by far the best porter I have ever had. Purely perfect.

Probably my favorite porter. A delightful, drinkable brew. Aroma is excellent: Head is medium brown. Coffee, chocolate, caramel, smoky, roasted malt. Balanced. A superior brew, not surprising for Founders. If you like Porters, this one is a must.

Hell this is the bomb of all porters. It is like sex in a bottle. Absolutely righteous chocolate, espresso with a roasty finish. Yum.

If I’m homesick, it’s for this brew. Chocolate, toasty, man, I want it to snow here.

A simply marvelous roasted aroma, displaying all thats wonderful about roasted barley, all that distinct hot chocolate and coffee bean texture,a delight to just smell and enjoy. Bold aggressive chocolate brownie with a slurp of coffee in your mouth flavor, satisfying bitterness in the finish. Seems like it wants to go slightly sweet ,but doesn’t get thereOne of the best porters I’ve ever tasted. I don’t see much room for improvement. A near masterpiece

All that a porter should be. Rich chocolate and coffee in a perfect combination. Roastiness with a full mouth feel. If you can’t get the breakfast stout this is the closest thing. Quite possibly the best porter I have had.

Yummmm! Killer beer! Poured with a thick, foamy, frothy, tan head that didn’t last too long and some lace. Color is an opaque brown. Aroma is rich, malty, roasty, chocolate, coffee, and vanilla. Flavor’s ’bout the same but more intense. Excellent body and carbonation. Finish is surprisingly clean & short for what’s here with just a little bitterness, ripe fruit, and leather. Sounds weird, but it works. Bit rich for a session.

This has to be my favorite porter and one of my favorite Founders beers and I was drawn to their IPAs. In fact I’m not a huge fan of porters but think thats wrong! Roasted malts with some chocolate tones and a sweetness which is well balanced by a bitter backdrop. In that backdrop is that slightly smoky rich ashy flavor which I dig in porters but usually they don’t seem to pack enough flavor in. This one delivers!

12 oz. bottle - thanks riverside!!! long been wanting to try this and alex hooked it up; pours rich, dark brown with thick chocolate head; nutty aromas of chocolate, roasty malts, thick and creamy goodness; tons of body and probably the richest porter i’ve ever had; tons of chocolate, but this is not a one dimensional chocolate porter by any means; everything is harmony and just perfection; midwest porters rock the house and this one easily tops them all; traded for a bunch more after trying this; simply put the best porter i’ve ever had
