4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Smells quite nice. Smoky, earhty, metallic, dark roasted malt. Dark black, with long-ish lasting brown head. Quite well balanced and full flavored for 6.5%. Creamy, chocolate, burn flavors upfront, finishes with some coffee, nutty and slight hope bitterness. Good body to this for the percentage. Pretty great porter.

Bottle--almost black pour with a small tan head that did not leave any lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Taste starts with the roasted coffee and ends up with some bittersweet cocoa. Medium thickness and creamy feel on the finish. Happy Founders is in Florida. Total wine.

4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Appearance - black pour with tan head. Very smell head
Aroma - not much of anything
Mouth - very creamy. Low carb.
Taste - hit with alcohol at first but as it got warmer more chocolate came out. Nice and toasty. Smooth aftertaste. Not hoppy like black butte.
Overall - excellent. I like how the chocolate is pronounced. Might be the best porter I have had since bells. More winter like a stout.

Founders Porter is really well balanced and smooth. Not quite as complex as the oatmeal breakfast stout.
