Hazy golden coloured body with a thin white head. Aroma of pure raspberries-pretty nice! Light to Medium-bodied; Strong sweetness, but not overpowering at all. A good tartness rounds out the taste, almost completely comprised of raspberries and malt. Aftertaste finishes well with some of the tart raspberries and a bit of sweetness. Overall, great to try, especially in the company of Bill Madden! I sampled this beer on draught at Founder’s in Alexandria, Virginia on 20-November-2004.

Draft... Murky, straw-colored ale with no head. The nose and flavor are of lemon and fresh, underripe raspberries. Light-bodied and very dry with feather-soft carbonation. Fruity, sour, dry finish. Very 3-year-old lambic-like. Good stuff.

This is another style I often struggle with. The fruit is usually too sweet and synthetic tasting for my taste. However, this one had plenty of acidity to cut through the fruit and was very drinkable. Cloudy, pinkish colour. Not sickly. On tap at the Founders, Alexandria.

Very cloudy pinkish straw color. Nose very punchy, loads of raspberry in it, a bit musky. Flavor is explosively fruity up front, none of that crappy artificial raspberry-flavored Kool-Aid you find in so many oversweetened, nasty fruit beers, this one tastes genuinely of raspberry. Great sour and tart backbone. Very creamy as well. A great fruit beer.

Draft at Founders in Alexandria before the DC/MD/VA/WV/PA gathering. Coulded amber body. Small fizzy white head. Aroma is raspberry jam, light hops and a faint malty note. Taste is tart raspberry, mild maltiness, and light hops. Glad this wasn’t candy sweet or dessert sweet. Body is a bit thin but still refreshing. Decent tartness lingers on the palate as well. Finishes with more tartness and fruit with some mild malt notes. Not bad!

Off-white head quickly vanishes, leaving a cloudy apple cider body. Aroma is medium sweet, raspberry, light peach. Taste is medium sweet, tart raspberry, light lemon. Light body, some crispness, low carbonation. More tart than sweet.
