COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pours a spectacular crimson red with a creamy tan head. Brewed with four varieties of Belgian caramel malts imparting a sweet richness. Reds Rye is impressively balanced with its hop bitterness and floral bouquet achieved from the dry hop. In the finish, the generous amount of malted rye used accentuates a spicy crisp finish.

Bottled - winter seasonal. On tap - year-round.

Note: Formerly Red’s Rye P.A.

Solid beer, but not my cup of tea. It’s a malty IPA that goes down pretty good. I could drink this anytime, but it’s not something I will seek out.

Another awesome rye ipa. Really smooth with a hoppy bitter finish. Pours reddish orange in color. Had a draft at haymarket. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Transfer from BA review on 5-7-12- Served on tap in a 10 oz chalice glass Appearance – Served a dark amber-red color with a thin off white head. The head faded fast giving a lighter amount of lacing. Smell – The smell is a nice combination of rye bread, caramel, and a good hoppy aroma. The hops are biggest in citrus, but nice notes of pine and earthy hop smells are present as well. Taste – There was a nice sweeter malt backbone that was present throughout the entirety of the taste experience. At first it was slightly on the sweeter side with some nice caramel and brown sugar flavors mixed within. A citrus hop flavor then enters the scene at a loss of some of the sweet. As the taste advances further more pine hops start to come into the flavor. These are also accompanied with rye taste. These rye and pine flavors get stronger as the taste moves to the end. It mixes very nice ly with the bready flavors and leaves a smooth rye spiced hop flavor on the tongue. Mouthfeel – This beer has an above average creaminess in body with a medium level of carbonation. The body suits the rye and hop flavors quite nicely as it really allows them to sit on the tongue. Overall – This is a very nice red IPA. It’s got a great hoppy flavor with nice rye bread tastes.

Very nice hop profile. Rye adds interest but isn’t overbearing. Excellently balanced beer.

Pours a nice red amber color with off-white head. Spice, caramel, floral notes, and some citrus on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with spice.

Into a pint glass. A very pretty opaque red amber color with an off white head that settles and laces nicely. Smells of sweet malt, toasty breads, spice and of course hops. Palate is fresh and balanced with just enough hops to cut the sweet malt tones. Really enjoying this one from Founders!

Pint @ Whole Foods Scottsdale, pours a lite reddish brown with some lacing. Citrus nose with malts. A little cold at first, but as it came closer to room temp the nose and flavors got bigger. Good blend of earthy caramel malts and grapefruit hop flavors. Even the bitterness balanced well with the overall beer.

Aroma- Big sweet grapefruit, tropical fruits, rye, caramel/toffee, with some nice pine resin. Taste- Caramel, roasted malts, grapefruit, tropical fruits up front, followed by a light bready character, nice pine resin, and a blast of orange. Strong flavors that blend beautifully. Palate- Almost thick, oily body with crisp, cooling carbonation. Dry finish with very nice lingering bitterness/sweetness.
