RKanis (18), Cincinnati, USA Nov 12, 2009 Pours with a nice frothy head. Dark amber in color. Strong aroma of grapefruit and rye. Nice hoppy flavor. Great beer if you enjoy hop’s and rye as I do. hamrech (28), Carbondale, Illinois, USA Nov 12, 2009 Wow I had no clue what to expect from this one, but it exceeded pretty much any expectation I could have conceived of. Pours a vibrant semi-transparent orange-brown with a lightly browned head, beautiful. Smell is pure wildness, hoppy, fruity, kind of a ginger-like character. Taste is perfectly balanced as I’ve come to expect from Founder’s (fine, so actually I had one expectation) and unlike anything I’ve ever tried. Very unique, and I’m not quite sure what its deal is but clearly this brew was perfectly executed. One of the best I’ve had in a long time. pootzboy (1042), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada Nov 11, 2009 Bottle:
Pours a shimmering amber- red hazy ale in the glass...1finger beige cap lasts and laces.
Nose is spicy (from the rye and hops) over some toffee tones...very interesting.
Spicey-bready tones, some sweetness, fruit notes, ...finishes up drt and very spicy-hoppy.
Great unique beer....first class!
madmitch76 (493), , Essex, England Nov 11, 2009 11th May 2008. Initially a bit too bitter but soon develops in to a decent hoppy beer that has malty reigns. Succulemt and moorish. patrickfannon (287), Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 5, 2009 Draft. Pours clear amber with a moderate off-white head. Aroma of hops, grapefruit, rye, yeast, bread, and malt. Medium to leght bodied. Clean, smooth mouthfeel. Crisp, airy finish. Good brew. NayTron (37), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA Nov 4, 2009 Smells of hops, florals and caramel. Hoppy, bitter with some sweetness. Hops lingers on with a nice smoothness. This is a really nice beer. thomson1 (8), Illinois, USA does not count Nov 4, 2009 A hoppy flavor that I have yet to tatse. Pours well, whiffs of sweet dank, finished with a burst of floral flavors.
