Aroma was grapefruity hops with a grainy spice note underneath. Smooth, even palate. Taste of grapefruity hops with a grainy spice note from the rye that lingers nicely on the tongue. Different, but very good. radiomgb (1957), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

Aroma is lightly rye, soapy, moderate sweetness.
Flavour is sweet, light alcohol, floral hops, perfume.
Lightly bitter mouthfeel, soft body, moderate carbonation.
Finishes fairly quick, sweet.
More caramel than rye, soft but clean.

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 12, 2009 Wow I had no clue what to expect from this one, but it exceeded pretty much any expectation I could have conceived of. Pours a vibrant semi-transparent orange-brown with a lightly browned head, beautiful. Smell is pure wildness, hoppy, fruity, kind of a ginger-like character. Taste is perfectly balanced as I’ve come to expect from Founder’s (fine, so actually I had one expectation) and unlike anything I’ve ever tried. Very unique, and I’m not quite sure what its deal is but clearly this brew was perfectly executed. One of the best I’ve had in a long time. pootzboy (1042), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada

Pours a shimmering amber- red hazy ale in the glass...1finger beige cap lasts and laces.
Nose is spicy (from the rye and hops) over some toffee tones...very interesting.
Spicey-bready tones, some sweetness, fruit notes, ...finishes up drt and very spicy-hoppy.
Great unique beer....first class!
