COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pours a spectacular crimson red with a creamy tan head. Brewed with four varieties of Belgian caramel malts imparting a sweet richness. Reds Rye is impressively balanced with its hop bitterness and floral bouquet achieved from the dry hop. In the finish, the generous amount of malted rye used accentuates a spicy crisp finish.

Had this a few weeks back. Was not really my thing... wish I could say why. Not bad at all, just one I would not go back to.

I am surprised how much I like this beer, as I am a west coast style IPA person usually. I also typically have issues with beers that have a heavy malt flavor, but the rye dryness gives it a hop-like flavor. Founders is the best brewer in the US I have found thus far.

Pour is a golden brown amber color with a small white head, quickly turning to a white ring. Nose is mostly of hops with a citrus like smell. Taste is very similar with a taste mostly like an IPA.

Pours a hazy reddish brown with a fluffy cinnamon colored head. The aroma is lovely - piney hops, rye bread, caramel. Medium bodied with medium carbo. It has just enough sweetness to carry the spicy rye and bitter hops. The balance between bitter, sweet, and spice is spectacular. The palate is ever so slightly watery, but overall a superb rye beer.

very nice aroma, fresh foresty hops with some nice caramel and lots of pepper. flavor is smooth with a blunt bitterness soften by malty sweetness. carbonation too low, but that could have been the tap. bitter spicy finish.

Hazy deep copper color with an off-white head. Bright citrus hop aroma. Just a hint of spice from the rye, a touch of sweetness from the caramel malt. Great balance. A good IPA with the added benefit of some extra rye malt complexity.

Reddish brown color, with a medium-sized head. Leaves lots of lacing on the glass. Bitter (but not overwhelmingly so) and hoppy, with some floral and spice notes. Very good! It has a strong taste without having a very high alcohol content.

Bottle. A very couldy reddish-amber beer with a medium off-white head. Aroma of caramel, hops, bread, citrus. Taste is mild sweet, mild bitter, with notes of citrus and bread. Crisp, dry finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Good session beer.
