COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pours a spectacular crimson red with a creamy tan head. Brewed with four varieties of Belgian caramel malts imparting a sweet richness. Reds Rye is impressively balanced with its hop bitterness and floral bouquet achieved from the dry hop. In the finish, the generous amount of malted rye used accentuates a spicy crisp finish.

Bottled - winter seasonal. On tap - year-round.

Note: Formerly Redís Rye P.A.

A hazy red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is caramelic and very hoppy. The flavor is sweet with lots of caramel, and also quite a lot of hops giving it notes of grass, but it also contains notes of cowberries, and it has a dry end.

Good nose of piney hops, notes of rye bread and some malt. Hazy amber body, small off-white head. Quite bitter flavor, ryeish, light malty end.

Deep reddish amber, thin white head. Aroma is really nice. Rich floral hops, real juicy. Lots of hops in the flavor, balanced by sweet malts, fruity, piney, more floral, but it finishes moderately bitter and dry. Very light toasted caramel in the aftertaste. An excellent brew.

Bottled: Amber coloured. Clear. LIght brown head. Malty and fruity with a hoppy touch. Peach and pine comes to mine. Flavour is sweet and woody. Has some herbal notes. Fruits as well. Light bitter in the end. Nice one. Thanks to Sammy for the trade.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2006 Another outstanding Founders brew. Rich malt hop aroma, sweet malt with a touch of cherry and a big bitter hop followup. Palate is a little harsh, but its full body and great hops and rye flavor makes this a winnerIn fact,it has now become one of my favorites and my rating for ithas been significantly highened

Bottle Pours a slightly hazy dark redish copper color witha thin but lasting off white head. Chunky sticky lacing. Rather sweet fruity aroma like the fruit cocktail I remember at school luches as a kid. But with a nice hoppy slant as well. Flavor is more of a woody bitter hops and the ABV is noticeable as well. Dry hopping really brings it to the front. Pretty strong. Thanks to Ohiodad for this one

12oz - Aroma is strong hops and subtle malt. Pours a deep red with a small head and decent lacing. Flavor is hoppy, yet subduded by rye and malt. A sweet finish of cherry and lemon. Palate is smooth and creamy, not as tart as the flavor and aroma predict. I like rye brews and will have to buy more of this.

Poured Red with a huge foamy tan head. Nose had lemon, strawberry and malts. As I warmed this in my hands, I also got notes of spruce. There be hops in here. The taste is very well balanced. I tasted lemon-grapefruit hops. Smothered over a malty-bread backbone. This goes down smooth, Ha! Crisp clean dry finish. Wow, this is a really well made brew. It was gone before I even noticed. Thanks to OHIODAD.

Courtesy of Ohiodad. Poures a deep orange/red color with a fluffy head. Smells pleasant with a citrusy hop aroma. Big grapefruit and citrus rind flavor in the fore. Smooth and creamy malt in the middle and a pleasant quenching finish that leaves a bit of bitterness in the aftertase. Nicely done!
