Pours a spectacular crimson red with a creamy tan head. Brewed with four varieties of Belgian caramel malts imparting a sweet richness. Reds Rye is impressively balanced with its hop bitterness and floral bouquet achieved from the dry hop. In the finish, the generous amount of malted rye used accentuates a spicy crisp finish.

Bottled - winter seasonal. On tap - year-round.

Note: Formerly Redís Rye P.A.

I like rye, and combined with a hopped up beer, you got a bold satisfying beer. Rye, full citrus mouthfeel and some lovely bitter aftertaste

bottle from bbb63, pours a red/gold color with a cream colored head that faded out almost immediately. aroma is strong, giving off large wafts of grassy hops and sweet rye. flavor is much like an ipa, but softer and not quite as sweet, as the rye is cleaner and crisper in the finish and aftertaste. a nice drinkable brew.

Pours with an amber body topped by a thin head with some lacing. Itís slighlty sweet and malty with a touch of caramel, some flowery notes and a touch of fruit. Medium bodied and smooth with a slight tingle.

Bottle. Brilliant red with a frothy, creamy head that lasted. Good lacing. Aromas of pine, hops and some fruit, Tastes similar to an IPA with the rye undertone. I prefer Founders Black Rye, but this is good.

UPDATED: AUG 20, 2007 I still have no idea what this "rye" stuff is all about. Just tastes like a good, really hoppy American pale. Good, but nothing great. I donít think iíd call it a strong ale either. There is a strong citrusy hop aroma but not so much in the flavor. There is a lot of carbonation but little head. RERATE: Really hoppy, even more than I remember. RE-RERATE. Still awesome. nice rye-spice, citrus hops, and an alcohol punch in the back of the head. re-re-rate. This must be super fresh because the grapefruit hop aroma and flavor is huge. god i love this beer.

UPDATED: APR 11, 2015 Glorious nose of sweet madarin oranges, marachino cherries, pineapple, cedar, and plums. A bit of a strong and bitter, burning mouth feel up front, a hint of a burnt malt flavor, but mostly this is similar to the aroma, though a little less fruity and with more of a scotch and wood flavor. A really excellent crafted beer, probably the best rye beer Iíve had. I hadnít been a fan of them because I havenít found one worth liking yet.

Aroma of fruity, citric hops (Centennial, seemingly), strong grapefruit and lemon notes with lighter hints of spice and toasty malt. Hazy deep red color with a lasting, creamy head and impressive lacing. Massively hoppy flavor profile, juicy, resinous and fruity, the middle seeing some balancing dark malt sweetness and finishing dry with a blend of intense hop bitterness and citric flavor and spicy, faintly minty rye. Palate is lush and full, body is medium. Very much like a dark IPA with added rye and quite a treat for any hop lover.

Dark red. Sweet caramel and floral hops in the nose. Flavor is hoppy and malty and dry, with a light Belgian malt twist. Sorry, I donít feel like discussing the beer further.

Poured a rather clear yet dark amber. There were very large bubbles in the head. The aroma was piney hops with a kiss of oranges. There is also a nice caramel undertone. The taste is grapefruit with a bread crust finish. There is also a little caramel. I like this a lot. It is hoppy enough to keep it interesting.
