COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pours a spectacular crimson red with a creamy tan head. Brewed with four varieties of Belgian caramel malts imparting a sweet richness. Reds Rye is impressively balanced with its hop bitterness and floral bouquet achieved from the dry hop. In the finish, the generous amount of malted rye used accentuates a spicy crisp finish.

Bottled - winter seasonal. On tap - year-round.

Note: Formerly Red’s Rye P.A.

Thanks to wohlfs for this beer.

Pours a deep amber with a fizzy light-tan head. Strong aroma of good hops, clean and refreshing. Taste is dominated by a strong hop character with a mellow, though not very sweet, backbone. Tasty and hoppy. Reminds me a little of Hop Rod Rye, though I think that was a slightly better beer. This is pretty damn good though.

Pours copper and cloudy with a decent tan head. Aroma is mostly hops but you can tell that there is some malt underneath. The flavor is bold and robust. Very malty and warm.. Notes of caramel, fruits, and a nice citrus grapefruit kick on the back of each sip that makes you take notice that this is a fine brew.. Very creamy on the palate. Full in the mouth and quite warming on the backside. This was surprisingly better than I expected. Quite tasty.. I’ll drink this another time!

Bottle. Pours a medium amber with a tan head. nose is fresh, big hops. Taste is semi fruity, very creamy texture. very smooth on the aftertaste, but somewhat lacking in a big flavor I anticipated. Good brew though

Wow. Tried this at the Michigan Brewers Cup last weekend at Copper Canyon. The beer was a deep saturated red color with a beige head. The aroma was caramel and fresh hops. Sweet balancing the spice and flower of the hop and the fruitiness of the yeast. Great malt/bitterness balance keeping the moderate alcohol completely hidden. Good creamy mouthfeel, I could have had this as my desert, but the turtle cheesecake was too tempting. This is an excellent beer, I wish I hadn’t waited so long to try this.

Reddish orange color with a beige head. Bright aroma of peaches, pine, lemon, hops, underlying notes of caramel and cake frosting. Has a grapefruit juice feel at first, sliding into some bitterness. There might be some rye in the late finish, but otherwise it goes unnoticed. Close to an IPA, but with more body, and a bit more finesse. Solid beer.

Deep ruby read with full tight off white head. Wonderful hop presence in the aroma. Very flowery hop aroma. Fabulous feel is the first thing I noticed with the initial sips. Medium to full body, very smooth, and with a creamy feel. The flavor is largely grapefruit but with a nice malt presence and some rye characteristics. They play off each other farily nicely, with a very plesant hop finish.

UPDATED: MAY 28, 2012 The Lure:
Scintillating citrus fruit drop to the wet earth, exploding and spurting their juices. Cranberries and apricots are scattered around as well, even sticking to the fallen bark around them. Bursting with life.

The Festivities:
A step within reveals a cumbersome earth which is going to make the travelling difficult. But the wooden hop bitterness works perfectly with the rye’s dryness, especially due to the surprisingly cushion-y feel. Lemons and grapefruits stick to my soles and will remain long after I’m sure.

Transcendence:
Another natural wonder from Founders.

Strong grapefruit, resinous pine, orange and spicy rye in the aroma. Clear, amber-brown with ruby highlights and a dense, decent, fine-bubbled head that recedes to cover with some lacing. Strong and spicy orange, pine hop flavour with assertive bitterness. Medium-light body with fair carbonation. Bottle (Mar. 2005) enjoyed with beerbuzzmontreal, MartinT, Olivier_MTL, Rastacouere and Yowie. Thanks, ClarkVV!

12 oz bottle. Dark pink-red and cloudy with a full medium tan head...massive Cascade aroma, grapefruit and very sour lemons with a touch of vanilla that doesn’t quite moderate the eye-watering intensity...thick malt in the creamy body, a relief after all the acid in the nose, though citrus does come in strongly soon and almost overwhelms the beguiling mouthfeel. Peppery, intensely sour finish.
