| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 22, 2009 Very hazy amber, fizzy yet fluffy beige head. Sweet caramel aromas splashed with tangerine and a touch of pine. Faint chocolate flavors, tangy and earthy -- almost like a low-abv barleywine. Rather bitter, but a nice malt character, too. Slight alcohol warming, long tangy finish. dkachur (2349), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 21, 2009 12 ounce bottle from Greenlife Grocery in Asheville, NC. Pours a slightly hazy vibrant red color with a thin head. Decent retention and lacing. Very dry aroma with strong citrus hops and assertive rye notes. The taste starts off fruity, with notes of citrus, particularly lime and grapefruit, peach and pear. Bitter finish of citrus hops and rye. Citrus is all over the place in this one. Medium-full bodied. TheBeerOrg (1568), Kentucky, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 16, 2009 Draft at Mad Mex (Monroeville). Pours a slightly hazy red, small tan head. Aroma is hops and a touch of caramel hiding in the background. Flavor is a nice blend of hops, caramel and spices (I’m guessing that’s the rye ?) Just a hint of sweetness pairs up nicely with the medium bitter finish. willblake (2173), Belcamp, Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 16, 2009 20090315 12oz bottle, readily available. Dark red-bronze, lightly hazed, with small, fading white head, briefly lacing. Rich malty aroma, bready, cookie dough, caramel, and black tea, with light pine and earthy hop notes. Flavor adds a bit of rye, grassy, astringent, and more light earthiness. Medium bodied with heft appropriate for its strength, light peppery spice, and even finishing a touch sticky. Nice stuff, but perhaps a stretch for the eleven dollar price tag. BeerBunker (607), Burbank, Illinois, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 10, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours copper with only the slightest amount of white head. Aroma is very hoppy with pine, caramel, and bread. The taste is very hoppy with lots of grapefruit and caramel. Underneath the hops is a very bready malt base. Each sip starts off very hoppy, but ends very dry due to the rye flavors. Mouthfeel is is medium, and very creamy. A very enjoyable beer. Neother the hops or the hops overpower the other. Flavor wise you have a good strong hop flavor here which I like that cool and crisp. I really don’t notice any difference with the Rye though but then again I have never drunk anything with Rye before either.
