3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 GTAEgeek (516) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JUN 6, 2011
On tap at the Book House Pub. Pours a dark amber color with a thin, persistent head and tons of lacing. The aroma is floral hops, orange rind, and rye bread. The flavor is strong malt sweetness and very bitter, but surprisingly balanced. The palate is silky and smooth, fairly heavy, and finishes clean. Overall, a great beer.

12oz bottle. Dark amber pour with light tan head. Short head that leaves a fair lacing. Grain and orange citrus are dominant on the nose. Light body, the rye is quite evident on the palate with some sweetness and a spicy hop character. Lengthy bitter finish.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 DrSilverworm (1033) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 25, 2011
12oz bottle. Nice, mahogany color, fine particles, and minimal khaki head. Nice, crisp and smooth texture, with a respectable aftertaste followed by an abrupt finish. Aroma is floral hops in the nose, malty rye becoming more evident through the finish, nothing too strong though - medium body, bordering on light even. Satisfyingly complex taste... Sweet if anything, but the spiciness masks it.

Poured a reddish brown color with mediocre head. Generous floral hop aroma and some caramel Taste is medium bitter, smooth with a hop bite. Med body, slightly oily texture. Soft carbonation, long finish. Some grainy grass malts in flavor also. Another standout beer from Founders. Not sure if I’ve had this style of beer before, but would try again.

Bottle. It pours a slightly unclear copper color and a small, dense, off-white to beige head. Slightly tooth-paste like in the nose, with resiny, peachy hops. Malty background. The flavor is sweet and malty, with a fine bitterness and hoppy flavors soon kicking in and running the show. Medium to full body with smooth carbonation. The finish is of the lasting and bitter finish. A nice one, but too sweet in my book. 110524

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Sarrsipius (6) - Indiana, USA - MAY 22, 2011 does not count
dark orange color. Ruby red almost. Thin tan head. Mild citrus aroma but it is subdued. Taste is not as citrusy as the aroma. More pepper and earthy notes in the flavor. A dry beer, almost astringent taste. This beer is crisp and bitter and very good if you like a crisp IPA.
4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 TheRealMGD (385) - Lakewood, Washington, USA - MAY 20, 2011
Tap @ Banter. Clear amber pour with a creamy off-white head leaving heavy lace. Light malty nose (damped by the persistent head no doubt) leads into a solid body with typical rye earthiness mixed with toast and burnt caramel. Hop profile is a bit of grapefruit and a lot of pine, but it’s definitely in proportion to the Pale Ale category - this isn’t a borderline IPA. Finish is meaty and dry. Very sessionable, superb balance and mouth feel.
