3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 frozen_glass (47) - Wisconsin, USA - NOV 22, 2010
Good looking bottle, good looking out of the bottle. Creamy orange haze keeps you from making out anything on the other side of the glass; topped with a sticky white head. The smell starts of earthy, but gives way to a sweet floral smell with a little bit of citrus. The taste is well balanced, with a bit of bitterness throughout underscored by a touch of sweetness. Has a nice, full, creamy sort of feel, with the carbonation giving it a thickness rather than a fizziness, punctuated by a bite at the end. Overall, a tasty beer with looks to match.

Smells delicious with aromas of flowers and citrus. Rich and cloudy, this beer pours a reddish-tan color. Malty and resinous, Reds Rye leaves you with a crisp, bitter finish. Very nice IPA that will satisfy those hop heads that appreciate rye ales.

Pours a reddish brown colour witha small, white, patchy head. Aroma of sweet malts with some raisiny notes. Flavour of rye, floral hops, sweet malts and syrup. Quite good balance. Medium bodied with a thick, round mouthfeel. Indeed the best specialty grain I’ve tasted so far.

Poured from multiple 12 oz bottles - Look, this is a real deal rye here. Malty sweetness is there as advertised, and this is balanced fantastically with the spicy hops. Dry hopped, sweetness, and unique malted rye make this a superb treat.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 KyotoLefty (3760) - Kyoto, JAPAN - NOV 17, 2010
Bottle, bought in G.R. During RBSG 2010. Nice hop aroma, grass and citrus, with light caramel malts and some spiciness, probably from the rye. Deep, cloudy amber with a nice, low, tight head. Rich malts, caramel, rye I think! Creamy, smooth, very flavorful, with tons of hops. Hop flavor is earthy and a bit citrus, bitterness is huge! Delicious. Nice grainy character and spice from the rye.
