Commercial Description:
Pours a spectacular crimson red with a creamy tan head. Brewed with four varieties of Belgian caramel malts imparting a sweet richness. Reds Rye is impressively balanced with its hop bitterness and floral bouquet achieved from the dry hop. In the finish, the generous amount of malted rye used accentuates a spicy crisp finish.

16 oz, on tap at Vintage. Pours amber with a 1 cm off-white head. Aroma is a sweeter citrus and a little malt. Initial flavor is a bold maltiness, slight rye and hop notes. Flavor becomes drier at the end. The taste is by far the best part of this red ale. Some lacing, light carbonation, light to medium body, and well hidden alcohol. Drinks well and will continue to consume as long as its on tap.

Amber reddish colour with a beige head. Hoppy, peach fruity aroma with notes of pine and caramel. Malty, caramel sweet flavor with hoppy piney notes and hints of fruit. Dry, fruity finish.

A tasting at Three Cellars, Milwaukee. This on failed to impress. Pours cloudy reddish brown with a thick white head. hops, citrus, malt aroma with a little dryness. Thinner than expected body for what seems to be so much maltFinishes with a fairly hop bitterness.

Pours amber with an extreme amount of frothy, off-white head. Strong odor of citrus hops. Thin mouthfeel, but a surprisingly subtle, complex taste. Starts off with a light sweet maltyness, then shifts to warm grapefruit and ends with a nice hoppy bitterness. I really like this beer.

I think somebody shook up my beer! I poured this into a glass and it was 80% foam. And foam is exactly what it was, it had the consistency of soap bubbles and stayed in the glass even after the liquid was gone. This is a pretty different beer, part red, part IPA, with a bit of creaminess. Has a rather dry finish. The beer I was able to drink was good, but this seemed to be all foam. Slight sediment at the end.

Pours a cloudy reddish brown with a thick white head. Big hop, citrus, malt aroma with a little grapefruit dryness. Thinner than expected body for what seems to be so much malt. Very nice easy drink, good mix of hop and malt. Finishes with a fairly nice hop bitterness.

Roasted "red" malt aroma backed with a deal of hop. Mahogany color with a vigorous white head. Medium body with creamy carbonation. The flavor is smooth roasted malt with resin and citrus hop. Rye flavor comes out with time, and the balance of malt and hop is pretty good. The finish is lightly sweet and strongly hopped. Very good drink.

What an extraordinary beer! Beautiful copperish red with floaters. Strong, hoppy aroma with a taste that matches. Unique and almost over powering taste! It never gets old!! This would be my number 1 choice at any liquor store. So glad it is fairly easy to find in Northeast Wisconsin. If you haven’t had this, delay no longer. You won’t be sorry.
