Commercial Description:
Pours a spectacular crimson red with a creamy tan head. Brewed with four varieties of Belgian caramel malts imparting a sweet richness. Reds Rye is impressively balanced with its hop bitterness and floral bouquet achieved from the dry hop. In the finish, the generous amount of malted rye used accentuates a spicy crisp finish.

10-14-07 bottle.
Rich beautiful thick caramel color, with a tan foamy head. Great sweet hoppy aroma - similar to apricots and honey (but I want more of it - a bit muted). Great taste! Nice hints of caramel complementing the hops well in the flavor. A bit drying in the finish but overall a great beer.

Pours a nice very slightly fogged amber with ruby hints when held to light. Minimal tan head does not stay long at all. Nose is nice and fruity with a decent amount of sugar/candy in the mix as well. Flavor is pretty robust. I guess the rye really comes into effect here and gives a fairly bodied experience. Seems like the profile is mostly of wood. Nice and hearty really. Feel is good on the liquid and the carbonation is fairly full. Smooth and drinkable, but slightly more of a sipper than one to pound down.

Really good. Citrus flavor with a lot of hops. Very dry finish leaves you wanting more. A little sweetness in there too.

Bottle: Deep, slightly hazy amber topped a consistent tan head. Very aromatic. Has a rich hop as well as malt presence. Sweet caramel, bready rye malts, accompanied by an American hop fruitiness of brown sugar nectarines. Tight carbonation in the velvety feel. The rye malt has a great presence, giving it a bread crust richness (not sweet or doughy bread) Mild chocolaty and caramel hints as well, meshing harmoniously with a grapefruity hop flavor, which gives it a perfect amount of dryness. Slightly piney bitter finish. Delicious, and extremely drinkable.

All-around good beer. Citrusy, refreshing...very nice in the summer. Did not really taste alot of malt, which I felt was fine in this type of beer.

12 oz Bottle from a long forgotten trade (beer swap 2.0??)-Pours a cloudy amber color w/a HUGE tan foamy head. Roasted malt aroma. Roasted malt flavor w/traces of caramel & rye w/a strong Hop background. Kind of odd that you taste the malt first & the hops are in the background. Long hoppy finish; nice change of pace.

Aroma is predominantly citrus hops with a dry malty overtone. Taste is initially very citrus and pine/floral hops and I start to wonder if this is really a specialty grain beer or a Rye IPA. And in the finish as the rye really starts to shine through and the resiny hops linger I realize that I was wrong and this deserves to be a specialty grain beer. Very nice.
