Shoutout to my buddy Dan behind the Churchkey bar for this one! Hazy, rich amber pour, small head. Fantastic, vibrant notes of rye grain, white grapefruit, unripe peach, floral brightness, grass, and a touch of caramel malt balance. Same on the flavor; incredibly balanced. Just an outrageously good beer, especially for the style.

Amber red with a medium sized whiteish head and little lacing. Fairy strong aroma of hoppy citrus and faint rye malt. Tastes of malty rye and spices up front that quickly melds into a nice hop bitterness with a nice creamy body. Strong aftertaste of rye, hops, and pine. Good drinkability.

From old notes. Deep red put with a noseful of crisp citrus and hoppy goodness. Taste is same with a little of the rye spices on the end. Great drinking beer.

12oz bottle as a gift from my neighbor Bob. Proper red coloration on the pour with a fruity and perfumed aroma. Probably safe to say that this was well balanced but nothing stood out for me except perhaps the label which still gives me pause.

pours a deep ruby color. decent amount of head. aroma is hop forward. lots of citrus (grapefruit) and piney notes. the caramel malts come through in the flavor and plenty of bitterness to keep it in check. not getting as much of the rye spiciness but still a good beer.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 hollardustin (293) - Indiana, USA - MAR 6, 2012
Pours a nice reddish amber with a small white head. The aroma is mostly floral but there are some fruity and piney notes. The taste is the perfect balance between hop bitterness and spicy rye. This is a great beer and i believe it to be the standard for comparing all other Rye-PA’s.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Chudwick (562) - Taylor Mill (KY), FRANCE - MAR 3, 2012
12oz bottle - pours amber with nice tan head and nice lacing. Nose is pine and overpowering. Flavor is grapefruit. Some sweetness but the bitter wins out. dry finish. I’m glad there are four types of malts in here or else this would be uber-bitter. Why go through so much effort to make what is ultimately just an IPA?

Pours a mahogany with off white head that only laces a little. Nose and taste are a blend of subdued mellow hops & earthy malts. Very solid brew.
