Pours a spectacular crimson red with a creamy tan head. Brewed with four varieties of Belgian caramel malts imparting a sweet richness. Reds Rye is impressively balanced with its hop bitterness and floral bouquet achieved from the dry hop. In the finish, the generous amount of malted rye used accentuates a spicy crisp finish.

Bottled - winter seasonal. On tap - year-round.

Note: Formerly Redís Rye P.A.

On tap at brewery. Reddish gold. Aroma is hops. Taste is a very nice exchange between the fruitiness of the hops and the caramel tones of the red malt. Nice sessional combo. Nice beer.

I can't help but compare this to Sierra Nevada's Ruthless Rye, only not as good. I was expecting more from my first Founders experience to tell the truth. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. bottle. Pours a thick, tiny bubbled, well retained, ivory head, with moderate lacing over a slightly hazy dark amber (SRM 15) body.....nose is rye, cereal from the grains, light pine, hints of citrus peel, hints of floral tones from the hops, minimal esters....taste is toffee/caramel type sweetness from the malts, rye spiciness, light floral tones, pine and hints of citrus peel from the hops leading to a moderate clean, bitter finish....mouth feel, medium body, slightly sticky, minimal astringency, alcohol hidden, low carbonation with light acid. This is clean, well balanced, and appropriately complex in both aroma and flavor. The rye comes through nicely, adding a nice touch. The result is a delicious beer. BJCP 9/3/16/5/7

12oz bottle poured into tulip. Murky reddish copper body with a one inch khaki head that settles to a cap and ring. Patchy lacing throughout the drink. Aroma is grapefruit, herbal hop, rye spice, and caramel malt. Taste is light malty sweetness all the way through, piney and floral bitterness, spicy rye bite, and some citrus fruit. Medium body, creamy texture, moderate carbonation, and a bitter spicy finish.

On tap very delicious. Pours deep red/brown. Taste is very full of rye and hops. Pours a Thin white head. Most of the reviews state the obvious on this beer. A great offering from founders.

A- Pours a copper color with a small, off white head. S- Lots of caramel malt, huge hop notes and rye. T- A nice malty backbone that is intermingled with rye and balances out a fairly significant hop load. M- Medium bodied with medium carbonation. D- This was an excellent brew that I wish was available locally.

12 oz bottle from Hy-Vee Muscatine. Reddish amber and slightly hazy appearance with tan head and light lacing. Strong aroma of rye spice, grapefruit, toasted caramel malts and floral notes. Similar flavor, bold and bitter with plenty of rye spice. Medium body, crispy, smooth and dry with a lingering finish. Nicely done.
