COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pours a spectacular crimson red with a creamy tan head. Brewed with four varieties of Belgian caramel malts imparting a sweet richness. Reds Rye is impressively balanced with its hop bitterness and floral bouquet achieved from the dry hop. In the finish, the generous amount of malted rye used accentuates a spicy crisp finish.

Nice enough beer, but I’m not really that big a fan of red ales. Rye only gives a slightly spicy finish.

On tap at champs. Red with half inch white head. Aroma is citrus. Flavor is caramel followed by grapefruit. Nice but a little overrated IMO.

Poured a deep honey color with a thin white head. Great aroma with lots of hops and peaches. Also lots of apricot and grapefruit with some rye. Pine needles also. Taste is smooth and fruity at first with apricot and rye. Taste transitions into a slightly bitter and hoppy finish. Finish is also a bit creamy with some candy and pine needles. Taste is not as hoppy as the aroma suggested, but still very good. Overall a great beer!

Bottle. Pours a nice reddish brown with a large beige head. Aroma is complex. Ripe plums and nectarines and obvious rye. A lot of the nose gets lost in the taste. Light bitter finish

355ml bottle carried back home from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. Reddish-brown body, semi-cloudy. Lots of dimples to a beige head displaying spotty lacing. Succulent aroma of red orange. Fresh fruity taste of orange and grapefruits added by juicy malts and followed by the sharpness of citrus peels. Bitter, spiced ending. Drinks very well (Tromsø, 25.04.2011).

UPDATED: APR 26, 2011 21-APR-2011, bottle @home, from "Fish & Beer". Pours a giant beige head on a red(!) amber body. Nice. Nose is bitter hops of the citric kind with some earty notes. Some berries as well? IPA-like though with a bready charackter that I guess comes from the rye. Hoppy, somewhat yeasty, with oranges and red berries, but mostly a fine bitter refreshing drink with a touch of sweetness.
