Flavor is very hoppy with just a little malt. Medium mouthfeel with a bitter finish. Skeegle (476), Maryland, USA Oct 26, 2008 Updated: Feb 5, 2009Wow. This is quite possibly the most bitter beer I’ve ever had thus far. The hops are just so overwhelming, and I think it’s due to the palate being so incredibly harsh as well--the carbonation in this is like a chugging a soda, you get water eye burps just from sipping on it. It sure is hoppy though, good god is it hoppy. This is a beer for those not afraid to get their tails whooped, I don’t know if I’m ready for it. sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Oct 22, 2008 Updated: Dec 22, 2008Courtesy of cigarcitybrew.

Light and easy to drink. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA Oct 20, 2008 Crushed with Jakebra. I feel like I’m chewing on a spicy hop, and I know what that is like, cuz I just ate a fuckin hop a hour ago. Luckily, hops are pleasing to me. If I could kiss a girl and she tasted like this all the time, aight. dp (512), uniontown, Ohio, USA Oct 16, 2008 first ever for me of this variety, expected an amber type, received more, had more bitterness than expected for a red hue, did enjoy it nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Oct 15, 2008 12 oz. Light haze on the reddish-copper brew. Large crunchy head lasts all the way and leaves a Swiss cheese-lacing behind. Nice aroma of grapefruit, earthy resin and honeycomb. Flavor is grapefruit and orange-resin hops balanced by spicy honey, and some grainy rye on the finish. Medium body is mostly smooth, slightly oily, and sharp on the hops-’n-rye finish. CanIHave4Beers (835), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Oct 13, 2008 I’ve had a couple of red rye beers now, and I suppose this sort of grain must seem to lend itself well to tons of hops. The beer looks great with a huge head (almost too big) it is a pretty shade of red and is pretty cloudy. The aroma is largely floral, and the flavor is very bitter and hoppy. Hops dominate the flavor but the rye seems to provide a good dryness that makes this beer a pleasure to drink. minch25 (346), Columbus, Ohio, USA Oct 12, 2008 Deep red color, creamy head. Aroma and flavor: vibrant ruby red grapefruit. Caramel. Medium bodied but refreshing. Dry. Very enjoyable.
