Commercial Description:
Pours a spectacular crimson red with a creamy tan head. Brewed with four varieties of Belgian caramel malts imparting a sweet richness. Reds Rye is impressively balanced with its hop bitterness and floral bouquet achieved from the dry hop. In the finish, the generous amount of malted rye used accentuates a spicy crisp finish.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown/amber with hardly any head. Aroma of piney and floral hops. Flavor is fairly hoppy and quite bitter. Some sweet malt (sort of a raisin taste) comes out as the beer warms. Didn’t really get any rye. I expected this to be a little maltier actually. Mouthfeel is fairly thick and heavy. This beer reminds me of SN Celebration Ale. Interesting beer. I’d probably have this again, but I’m not in any rush. Update 2/17/09: HUGE head in this one. Flavor of sweet malt and lots of rye grains. Flavor is sweet and quite grainy initially with some rye in the finish. Some light fruits (strawberry maybe). Palate is a little weak though. Still not digging this one. I’m keeping my original score.

Draught: Dark red color. This is a nicely balanced/smooth beer with a lovely hop taste and a hop flavor that lingers and you don’t want to go away. I loved the subtle complexities (work jerk) of this beer and I wish to drink it again.

Bottle, Thanks to Buckeyeboy. Pours a hazy amber with nice off-white head with good retention. Semi-lace on glass. Aroma of nice hoppy grapefruit. Flavor is very nice, Malty with strong hop citris of grapefruit, with nice strong bitter, similar to a nice IPA. Palate is full bodied, medium carbonation. Tasty brew!

12 oz. bottle from the Detroit haul, shared with Naka. Pours red with off-white head. Big hop nose, floral and and citrus with slight grassy notes. Taste of tea. Good hoppy flavor and bittering, floral and grassy. Dry and tasty. Really good rye red ale. Good rye malt flavor. Tasty Tasty. Could definitely be a repeat.

Thanks emacgee. This one looks great in the glass, pours a hazy amber color with a very thick/creamy tan head. Rye is very present in aroma. Taste is very unique. Has a very spicy taste to it topped with rye. Finish is very long. I didn’t enjoy this one as much as I expected.

Poured a beautiful deep red amber color into a stange glass served at a MacNivens restaurant in Indianapolis. Creamy head that left nice, thick lacing all the way down the glass. A bit hard to determine aromas in the bar atmosphere, but it was slightly fruity with hints of pumpernickel bread. Taste was exceptional. Awesome combination of malts and hops, perfectly balanced. Slight rye presence in the background. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Overall, one of the most drinkable beers I’ve had. This was an exceptional beer and lived up to the hype. An excellent choice.
