Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Jan 1, 2007 12 oz bottle. Amber color with creamy tan head with a slight orange hue. Full aroma of sweet sugary caramel malts and pine hops. The flavor is lots of pine hops with some grassiness. The sweet malts are experienced around the distant edges of the hops. Just about the end there is a rye note that surfaces. Nice lacing too. IrishBoy (2686), Bakersfield, California, USA Jan 1, 2007 Bottle from TPaliga; Thanks! Nose of caramel and rye bread combined with some light hops; slightly hazed copper with a medium beige head; flavor showed some hop bitterness along with rye and light caramel malts, along with some hop bitterness and some sourness. Doesn’t come close to the Alesmith Yulesmith I am rating and comparing this against! realale420 (399), west covina, California, USA Dec 31, 2006 12oz bottle poured reddish/copper color with a nice off white head. The aroma was spicy hops with mixed caramel malts. Taste was nicely bittered with a spicy dry hoppy finish. The rye in the finish gives the beer a very unique taste. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Dec 31, 2006 12 oz bottle courtesy of wheninhell. Hazy red with a huge beige head that gets rocky as it disintegrates. Hoppy citrus nose with a caramel backbone. Flavor is spicy and floral, some brown sugar flavors. Hoppy citrus finish. Good! kimcgolf (825), Dacula, Georgia, USA Dec 31, 2006 Pours to a hazy reddish-orange with thick, pillowy off-white head that lingers for entire glass and leaves excellent lacing. Plenty of carbonation in this one, as I had to pour in three shifts to avoid overtopping. Had the pleasant aroma of citrus (grapefruit), more similar to an APA or even IPA. Flavor was a mixture of the citrus and some caramel malt. As the beer warmed, the alcohol slowly crept in to nicely add to the flavor. Mouthfeel was slightly spicy, and the aftertaste was more of the citrus.
A good, smooth, tasty beer. WJL2 (9), East Lansing, Michigan, USA does not count Dec 30, 2006 Tap.. Outstanding hop aroma that consists of very floral citrus notes. Consistent citrus flavored body with a smooth taste that is in good balance. Head was of medium thickness and was white in color. Great tasting rye especially cooled in a growler the next day. Cheers Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 23, 2006 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a clear, amber golden with a dense, beige head leaving laces. Aroma of caramel and aroma hops. Medium body with swettish accents of caramel and then a fairly hoppy finish takes over. Nice. 191206 Storm (2685), Amager, Denmark Dec 21, 2006 Bottle. Amber colour with a huge white head. Hoppy aroma with notes of citrus and melon-like. Nice hoppy flavour with notes of rye, citrus, lemon and melon. Ends up with a little alcoholic and bitter finish.
