Jun 21, 2009 Updated: Jun 24, 2009Draft at Earth Bread and Brewery in Philly. Pours orange amber with an off white head. Huge piny floral hop aroma with some sweeter malt in the background. The flavor follows with more piny and floral hops, with some lighter notes of sweet malts, citrus, spices and maybe a hint of rye. Awesome.

Jun 17, 2009 Bottle. Pours a large, creamy, off-white head with good lacing and a clear, amber body. Average malt aroma of caramel, cereal and toast. Heavy hop presence, primarily floral and citrus and a bit perfumey. Medium bodied and slightly sticky. A little resinous from the hops. Average carbonation with a bitter finish. Overall a good beer, but I was hoping that the rye would play a slightly larger role. Seemed to get dominated by the hops.

Jun 16, 2009 Tap at Founders in a pint glass. Piney aroma. Opaque red with off-white foam. Lightly sweet and medium bitter. Thin feel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, and long bitter finish. Hoppy but not too hoppy. The rye with hops reminds me of gin. Big rye taste.

Jun 15, 2009 Bottle. Pours a reddish amber with a thin whispy off-white head. Aroma is spicy and floral. Nice malty body with a toasty rye finish with ample bittering hops. Medium bodied. Good.

Jun 14, 2009 (bottle) A hazy red body and a big beige head. Aroma is caramel, grains and hops. Flavor is sweet and hoppy; caramel, slightly smokey, earthy notes. Body is full and chewy.

Jun 13, 2009 12oz. brown bottle served in a shaker pint. Pours a brilliant, reddish copper with about a finger of light tan head. Big piny hop aroma. Starts off with a solid malty base with some spicy rye. Great hop bite that is piny with some grapefruit. Long lingering finish with the hops. I’m glad this is available in my area now. This is a great beer.

Jun 12, 2009 12 oz bottle. hazy dark amber pour with a medium white head. aroma is pine, honey, floral and apricot. taste is spices, light honey, hops, rye and caramel. this is a strange rate. there is a lot going on but it blends so well together that it almost comes off as boring.... but in a good way... somehow. it’s definitely drinkable. I’d love to have a sixer for more study.

Aroma is nice toasted malt, some bready tones some caramel tones, resinous hop and lighter grapefruit hints.
Flavour is the piney hop in the front, some sweet and sour maltiness with a medium bitter finish.
Some sourish rye malt in the finish as well.
