s_creigh (201), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Jun 2, 2008 Pours a nice looking amber color. Small white head but it does have some lasting power with some lacing. A strange grain smell...I assume this is rye. Mouthfeel is somewhat thin. Nice malt balance with the hops. Some bitter finishing. This is a real nice beer.
minch25 (195), Columbus, Ohio, USA Oct 12, 2008 Deep red color, creamy head. Aroma and flavor: vibrant ruby red grapefruit. Caramel. Medium bodied but refreshing. Dry. Very enjoyable. Rciesla (891), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Oct 12, 2008 Bottle pours a ruby brown body with a hint of red in the head. Lots of rye with the malt and a great complimentary hop balance of resins, and fruit like notes. Drink fresh. CoachJT (21), Columbia, South Carolina, USA Oct 11, 2008 12 oz bottle pour. Deep orangey copper in color, very hoppy aroma. Nice reddish beige head. Definitely more of an IPA than a rye, this is an excellent brew. CelticBrew (512), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA Oct 11, 2008 Pours a dank, hazy brown, forming medium light off brown foamy head. Aroma of hops, grapefruits, sweet caramel maltiness. Flavour of rye and hoppyness, resins and malt sweetness abound. Tastes like a belgian/American strong ale hybrid. This beer is good, drink it now! durhambeer (535), Durham, USA Oct 9, 2008 Sample at WBF. So glad this just came to NC for sale! Crisp, hoppy sweet nose with solid rye malt aroma. Very fresh and fun, and more hoppy than many rye ales. Nice bubbly head atop a copper body. Grass, grains, and citrus. Crisp bitter finish. Lovely.
