Opaque black withblarge lasting tan head. Maple sugar and bourbon with a slight musty aged hint. Very sweet, medium to heavy body, slight dark chocolate, slight bitterness. A bit of a malt bomb, but very good. Seems this could use a little more time.

StoutFest (77) - Stoutville, Illinois, USA - APR 21, 2012

AROMA-old hops, brown sugar, bourbon and oak. APPEARANCE-light black with a very thin white head. TASTE-caramel, oak, licorice, and a cotton candy toffee like sweet flavor with a woodsy finish. PALATE-medium bodied, mildly sticky, slick, average carbonation, and a long sweet woodsy finish. OVERALL-ABV well hidden, smooth, sweetly balanced. Reminded me of a very well balanced bourbon barrel aged medium bodied barleywine with characteristics of a stout and IPA.
