COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not another boring summer wheat beer or lemonade shandy—Rübæus is Founders’ way to celebrate the season’s warmest months. Optimizing the flavor of fresh raspberries added at multiple stages during fermentation, this stunning berry red masterpiece is the perfect balance of sweet and tart. No question about it, with a hefty malt bill and 5.7% ABV, this beer is 100% Founders.

Pours red, bit of white foam. Looking like a lots of raspberry has been used in this one. Aroma has more of it - but is funnily also a bit soapy. You can feel the malt body underneath the berries but berries are quite dominant in the taste. Quite sweet but that sweetness does not disturb me. Drinkability is high and the beer disappears from my glass quite fast, just like magic.

Seems off balance to me. Artificial, candy like flavours, sweetness with some sourness.

On tap at Fatpour on Nitro. Beer definitely tastes like Raspberry - but is neither sweet nor tart. Falling somewhere into an uncanny valley in between. Lack of distinct tart nor sweet flavor is off-putting. Tastes just like raspberry flavored malt. Disappointing.

Pours pink with a thick white head. The fruit aroma hints at raspberry. Flavor is a balanced between sweet and tart raspberry.

On 33 cl bottle. Expected much more. Nice reddish color with a thick head. Too sweet for me.

Its so pretty... Like watermelon.... Pink is, in general, the most delicious flavor, and this proves that it is a thing... I don’t know what else to say.

5.7%ABV. raspberry ale. Nose is raspberry Jell-o. Palate is cidery. Sweet fruity. To their credit there is some nice residual hoppy finish which you won’t get in any other fruity cidery sort of brew....so there ya go!

Bottle. Pink pour white a pinkish white head. Aroma of raspberries and mineral water. Flavor raspberry and light malt. A nice fruit beer where the fruit really stands out. Very easy to drink.

Bottle. Deep pink with small frothy pink head. Strong raspberry aromas with lime juice elements and some biscuity malt. Similar flavours, with a very sweet front and mid palate and only slightly sour finish. Not overly complicated. I'd like some more tartness. Went magnificently with a cheddar washed in sour raspberry beer from Wisconsin (funnily enough) and even better with a strong, creamy, salty blue from France. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
