COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not another boring summer wheat beer or lemonade shandy—Rübæus is Founders’ way to celebrate the season’s warmest months. Optimizing the flavor of fresh raspberries added at multiple stages during fermentation, this stunning berry red masterpiece is the perfect balance of sweet and tart. No question about it, with a hefty malt bill and 5.7% ABV, this beer is 100% Founders.

Pours like carbonated Kool-Aid. Foggy red, and absolutely no head. Weird. Nose is raspberry toned for sure and not much else. Flavor is overpowering raspberries. In your face, in your mouth, and up in everything else it can get into. Very tangy and distinct. Feel has a lot of carbonation and a decent liquid feel, but it leaves a real sticky feel in the mouth that seems odd. This is a decently well made beer that goes way overboard with the raspberries. It is just too much and creates a one dimensional experience.

Bottle from Capone’s. Pours red, with a pink head. Aroma is sweet raspberries. Flavor is raspberries, and a little wheat. This seems nowhere near 6.9% alcohol. Good stuff.

Pours red with bright white head. Light aroma of raspberries. Light flavor of raspberries. Seems like the water down version of their Blushing Monk. Very smooth for 6.9%?! No way.

Bottle: Pours a slight amber with a small head. Strong, but good, raspberry armoa and taste. Very enjoyable for a fruit beer. Good desert beer.

(Bottle) Pours a crimson color with a pink head. Sweet raspberry aroma. Taste is similar, but has sweet and sour that really give your tastebuds a workout. This beer has something few fruit beers can claim - good balance. Dry finish and good mouthfeel. Definitely worth a try!

Dark ruby red color with small light pink head and some lacing. Aroma is nice with obvious raspberries. Flavor was good. Strong raspberry flavor, sweet, but not sugary and fake like Lindemanns. A light acidic/alcohol tingle, sourness and nice malt notes.

Bottle. Gotta be 8-9 months old by now at least. Pours with a big, super fizzy head. Aroma of sugary, artificial raspberry. Palate is super fizzy to the point of being burning, and very harsh probably from the excess CO2. Raspberries in flavor finish with a cookie malt that doesn’t really fit. I know this is beer so it should have some kind of real beer flavors but in a good fruit beer I want the fruit to be dominant and in control, and in this the fruit kind of gets beat up by the malts. Not very good.

Bottle provided via trade with drmatt. Pours hazy ruby with spare, fizzy, off-white head, somewhat diminishing, spare lacing. Aroma is light malt (bread, meal), average hops (citrus), light yeast (dough) with notes plum and raspberry. Medium bodied, creamy texture, soft carbonation and a chalky finish. Short duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.
