An interesting "beer". The raspberry is quite intense and I didn’t detect any aspect of "beer" aside from the carbonation. I love raspberries, so the slight sweetness and very intense tangy flavor were very nice.

(Draught) clear deep pretty red color, wispy white/pink bubbles. Nose of fresh raspberry, raspberry syrup, no grain bill to speak of, just sweet but it smells mostly like real fruit. Taste is a bit more artificial though I get real raspberry and seeds out of it, syrupy, carbonation to try and tackle some of this sweetness though its not completely successful, bit caramel or brown sugar derived sweetness here too. Body is thick and quite a sweet linger.

Thomasville, Ga - Sweet Grass Dairy Cheese Shop on tap at their Founder Tap Takeover. Ruby red pour, soft pink head, nice lacing. Aroma has a fresh, tangy, sour raspberry accent to it - smells kind of like a freshly picked basket of berries. Flavor is tangy, sweet and sour at the same time - very fresh Nothing artificial here. Mouthfeel, thick and creamy and coats your tongue and throat - makes an excellent desert beer.

On tap at Salt of the Earth, Fennville. Nice surprise, since I have yet to see this around me in bottles or anything else. Pours a deep plum color with a thin pink head. Nose full of raspberry jam and some light crackery malt notes. Actually really sweet flavor-wise, with some tartness. Medium bodied, with a doughy, yeasty and tart raspberry finish. This would be a good one for 90+ degree weather, as last year’s Cerise was, but inside on a rainy night it was definitely jammy and a bit overbearing. Still, a good fruity brew that would go well with some pancakes or waffles in the morning.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A: Sugary sweet. Raspberry tartness comes through. A hint of malt.
A: Looks Amazing (poured into a flute). Ruby red. Little head with a bit of red in it. Very unique color.
T: Very balanced on the taste. Sweet, tart, malty, fruit mustiness.
P: Must on the finish is a little weird. But sits like a weak sweet tart.
Overall this is an amazing beer. A great fruit beer that isn’t super weak (just like the description on the bottle!) A must have summer beer that can be enjoyed by everyone.

Sweet jammy raspberry fruit. One of the best fruit beers I’ve had. Another Founder’s winner.
