Not another boring summer wheat beer or lemonade shandy—Rübæus is Founders’ way to celebrate the season’s warmest months. Optimizing the flavor of fresh raspberries added at multiple stages during fermentation, this stunning berry red masterpiece is the perfect balance of sweet and tart. No question about it, with a hefty malt bill and 5.7% ABV, this beer is 100% Founders.

12 oz bottle. Clear, bright reddish-orange color with a pink tinge. Head was white, bubbly and reduced quickly. Aroma and flavor were dominated by raspberry. Sweet on the tongue and medium bodied.

What else but rasberry colored pour and taste, no head. Awesome rasberry aroma. Light, crisp, refreshing taste.

Very interesting. Smells like champagne, looks like champagne, feels like champagne, but tastes just as adveritsed; a light delicate very rasberry beer. Very refreshing for a change.

Pours a pinkish red color with a tiny white lacing. Aroma of fresh raspberries and cream. Flavor is raspberry dominated with hints of sweetness and carbonation. More like a carbonated summer raspberry punch than a beer.

Bottle. Pours a light ruby color with a rapidly diminishing light pink head, almost soda like. Aroma is raspberries, yeast, floral. Taste is tart raspberries, some floral notes again. Palate is light to medium, with some stickiness left on the lips. Left me with a not too pleasant after taste. All in all decent.

Rich red / pink color. On tap. Not smooth, very fizzy, tart yet sweet, nice yeasty / wheaty kinda taste...the Blushing Monk is better.

UPDATED: DEC 10, 2006 The guy at the the beer store in Boardman Ohio said this was a very impressive raspberry beer. Well, what could I say, I like raspberries so I fell for the sales pitch. The best fruit beer I have had to date is Lancasters Strawberry, yum yum, will have to be pretty good to beat that. This is the first Founders I’ve tasted. . .................................................. oz bottle w/twist off cap. Pours transparent reddish with no head. Little carbonation. Does have a raspberry initial hit but not a ’clean’ raspberry flavor. However, it is not artificial like so many fruit beers. Very good, but could be a bit sweeter. Finish is not offensive nor lingering for a fruit beer. Almost has a cider characteristic about it but does not vacate the fact that it is a beer.

TITW Part Deux - PInk, fizzy white head. The nose is full of deep raspberry tones with just a hint of florals. It’s slighlty tart, very fruity, with an underlying dried flowers tone. Light bodied, medium carbonation, fruity finish. Perfect drink for the summer months...

The Rubaeus pours out an interesting shade of red with very little head. The aroma is nothing but raspberries, and is very nice. Taste is interesting because of the mouthfeel--good raspberry flavor, but is almost too flat. This one could be more interesting I think, but definitely tastes like what it says it will.
