COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not another boring summer wheat beer or lemonade shandy—Rübæus is Founders’ way to celebrate the season’s warmest months. Optimizing the flavor of fresh raspberries added at multiple stages during fermentation, this stunning berry red masterpiece is the perfect balance of sweet and tart. No question about it, with a hefty malt bill and 5.7% ABV, this beer is 100% Founders.

Bottle. Pours a ruby red color with pinkish head. Very tasty raspberry aroma and flavors. But kind of tastes like liquid raspberry jam.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a darker red to purple with a pink tinged head of foam. Aroma is fresh red raspberries and bread. Tastes very sweet and fruity. Lightly tart in the finish. I’m surprised at how much I enjoyed this one.

Bottle dated 6/10/13. Pour has a deep dark red color and a coating of off white head that fizzled off. Aroma has seedy raspberry, sweetness, and some malt. Mouth feel is light and the carbonation on the low side. Flavor blasts out the berry but it is not cloying or thick, seedy bitterness, touch of tartness, and a lingering finish.

Pours a clear ruby color with a big lavender tinted head that has good retention and lacing. Aroma is slightly tart with raspberry and grape notes and yeast and malt character. Taste is tannic with raspberry and grapes. Only a hint of tartness and some malt sweetness. Mouthfeel is semi sticky with a medium body and medium/high carbonation. Good balance of all the flavors but would have liked a bit more tartness. A fruit beer that I could enjoy.

Pours a reddish pink with a slightly pink head. Big raspberry aroma with a matching raspberry flavor with a hint of tartness at the back end. Very good for a fruit beer.

The appearance is so gorgeous due to the rich and dark ruby red color with a ring of pink foam, and the aroma is very strongly raspberries with a hint of bread malts. The taste is quite sweet and slightly sour, which is just barely beer with a huge fruit character that just rounds out to a pleasant tartness; furthermore, the palate combines a medium body, thin texture, soft carbonation, and a long sweet finish. Upon the first sip, I knew that I had just discovered what summer beer is supposed to taste like.

Aroma is raspberries, malts and slightly musty. The flavor is raspberries, mild/medium sweetness, malts and a tart/tangy finish. About as close to NG Raspberry Tart without going to Wisconsin.

Bottle
Appearance: Dark purple with a light purple head.
Aroma: Raspberry, grapes
Taste: Fresh berries, sweet, with a semi-tart finish
Palate: Extremely lively mouthfeel, quickly dissipating berry finish
Overall: Walks the line between sour and sweet nicely. Still a pretty heavy/sweet beer that is a sipper.

This is a really tasty beer that is juicy and full or raspberry flavor. Has a nice balanced sweetness that isn’t too overly so. Has a slight tartness and high acidity with hints of Cherios on the finish. Very drinkable.

Yes! Thanks Founders for this treat! Deep purple pour with a pinkish white head. Earthy raspberry nose. Big raspberry flavor, sweet but not overly so, and just the right tartness. This reminds me of New Glarus raspberry tart, but with more raspberry character. Outstanding!
