COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As promised Founders Brewing Company has created something unlike the rest. Amongst this summers over crowded race to cloudy wheat beers we have decided to embark down a path all to our own. By using only fresh raspberries Rubaeus translates into intense flavors combined with a no hesitation malt bill. At 7% ABV this is definitely beer. In fermentation we add fresh raspberries at five separate stages throughout the fermentation life cycle to achieve the ultimate balance between tartness and sweetness. Pours red and smells like raspberry pie. You can smell the seeds and everything. Sweet and sticky raspberry flavor going down. It has a nice tart finish.

On draft at The Publick House, Brookline. Pours a lovely pinkish-red with red tinted tight head. Nose is of nice sharp berries, a hint of grassy hops. Palate starts with a well balanced blast of raspberries, followed shortly by a nice wheaty malt body. Finishes clean and moreish. Quite nice for a non-lambic fruit beer, as these usually aren’t my cup of tea.

Pours a light red with a tiny white head. Aroma is tart raspberries, grass and some dough. Flavor is wonderfully tart and somewhat grainy. Finishes short and tart. Light to medium bodied, sticky texture.

Brandywine apple in color--small off-white head...delicious pungent raspberry aroma...refreshing flavors jammed with raspberry...sweet in general, but not overwhelming...a little tart, again not overwhelming...a cereal flavor that reminds me of Kix...had this draft as well at AC beer fest...I loved it then , and love it now...one dimensional flavor, but who cares?...I’m a sucker for the raspberry

Hmmm..........well from the looks of the ratings, i’m gonna say htis one is overated. A sweet/sour funky raspberry aroma, not unpleasant, but not great. The flavour is sour, and slightly funky, and it’s leaving a DMS kinda buttery flavour in my mouth. Nah not my bag.

Bottle thanks to decaturstevo. Poured ruby red with a thin pink head. Lots of raspberry in the aroma. Sweet malts in the flavor with a tart fruit backing. Light body and dry. Very enjoyable!

12 oz bottle. Light reddish pour. Aroma is overwhelmingly fruity, yet a bit sour-smelling. Taste is over-the-top fruity, with barely a hint of the 7% alcohol.

Crisp reddish brown pour with a fairly strong raspberry nose. Spritzy mouthfeel delivers a decent and easy-drinking raspberry tart...refreshing and unchallenging. Fairly high ABV surprises, spritzy carbonation refreshes, and tart raspberries quench the thirst on a hot summer day.
