Mostly red in color, with a pink-ish head
that dissipated quickly. Aroma of
raspberry, as one would expect. Not
as strong a raspberry flavor as I had
expected (as compared to Lindeman’s
Framboise, for example), but noticable
enough. Not a beer for everyone, as
some reviews indicate, but a good,
drinkable summer beeer without an
overwhelmingly fruity taste. gunhaver (1044), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 5, 2008 Bottle, courtesy Santa. Pours a dark pink color, with a fizzy head and very little lacing. Tons of raspberries in the nose, dry and sweet, vanilla, and some strawberry. Dry malts start off the flavor, following the first wave of raspberries. Some hay, too. Pretty mild overall. Crisp and refreshing, tastes a bit artificial though (not that it is, but that it tastes that way). Still decent for what it is. KawaBomber (213), New Jersey, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 5, 2008 12oz Bottle: Pours ruby red w/ a small light pink head that doesn’t stick around very long. Tart raspberry aroma. Flavor is tart raspberry too, but there is a bit of malt to go w/ the raspberry onslaught. Great summer beer, but I do think this one is way better on tap. Doesn’t seem quite as smooth in the bottle. GAManiac (1210), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 4, 2008 Bottle. Pours ruby red with a small pinkish head that doesn’t stick around very long and leaves no lacing. Smell is, not surprisingly, raspberries, mostly sweet but with a hint of sourness at the end. The taste is also dominated by raspberries but there is definitely a beer backbone in there - malts and a faint hop taste in the finish. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with decent carbonation. The drinkability is pretty good on this one especially since the sweetness is toned down a little in the taste. BeerBaron617 (313), Novi, Michigan, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Aug 1, 2008 I was not very impressed with this. It pours a hazy dark red with little head. It actually kinda tastes like a wine cooler. My mother actually thought it was! I guess it would be good as a glorified chick beer. decaturstevo (2010), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 26, 2008 Very tart raspberry aroma. Clean red/brown pour. slightly sweet/tart raspberry dominated flavor with just a bit of a flat papery finish. Slightly thin with light foamy palate. Pretty good beer that without the bit of a funky after taste would really be good. lumberjack (178), Michigan, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 25, 2008 Red pour with disappearing pink head. Aroma is sweet berries and nothing more. Taste is led by raspberries that are more reminiscent of jam or preserves than of fresh tart berries. There is just enough of a malt and hop backbone to let you know this isn’t a wine cooler. Not bad, but really not that refreshing of a summer brew either. saltebru (13), Ionia, Michigan, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 19/20 | Jul 25, 2008 Pours a nice ruby red. You can really sense the raspberries. Fermentation from the malts as well as the raspberries. A really good beer.
