Not another boring summer wheat beer or lemonade shandy—Rübæus is Founders’ way to celebrate the season’s warmest months. Optimizing the flavor of fresh raspberries added at multiple stages during fermentation, this stunning berry red masterpiece is the perfect balance of sweet and tart. No question about it, with a hefty malt bill and 5.7% ABV, this beer is 100% Founders.

An interesting "beer". The raspberry is quite intense and I didn’t detect any aspect of "beer" aside from the carbonation. I love raspberries, so the slight sweetness and very intense tangy flavor were very nice.

Clear dark red with a bubbly head. Nice raspberry aroma. Light raspberry, very smooth. This is nice but lacks the depth of a raspberry lambic, but it still has a nice balance to it. A bit like Badger Poachers Choice.

Bottle. Darkish red-amber colour with a small white, possibly pink-ish head. The aroma is raspberry, a little cherry as well. Flavour is quite sweet, almost syrupy raspberry, some tartness. A little citrus. Just okay.

Rated based on notes taken 28 Dec 2014 -- Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. This is pretty good stuff for a widely distro fruit beer.

Bottle at Devonshire cat, sheffield. Pours a reddish copper colour with wispy white head. Aroma is raspberries (natch) and also some warm earthy leafy notes. Taste is sweet and tangy sour, impressively leaves the same sensation on the back of the tongue as real raspberries. Slight prickle and medium body.

it pours a reddish, dull amber with a bit of fruit sediment, like a very watery strawberry juice made with brown sugar. The smell is tart and fruity, with raspberry stewed with sugar and barley being the most prominent notes. The taste is at first moderately bitter from the grain and raspberry sweet and ends on a tart, slightly dry note. The mouthfeel is medium, with a slightly syrupy body and medium carbonation that gives the beer a mineraly impression. Unassuming but satisfying.

Pours deep red with a thin head. Heavy raspberry aroma. Taste is sweet raspberry with some malt. Not overbearingly sweet though

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks zvikar. Clear orange-red. Pleasant raspberry aroma. Sweet and slightly sourish flavor with raspberries and a drier bitterish finish. Medium-bodied. Decent.
