Nice red color with huge raspberry aroma. Sweet. Refreshing sweet raspberry taste. A little too sweet for me though . A bit too much on the raspberry side.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a gorgeous clear pink/red color with little head. Aroma is sweet raspberry, strawberry, dry almost like champagne. Taste is sweet, slightly tart raspberry, some wheat, dry again. Drinks more like champagne with some fruit muttled into it but still great. Not overly sweet like a majority of the style.

Bouteille partagée, cadeau de Guy. Une belle couleur de jus de framboise. Un nez de smooties aux framboise et une bouche plus près du jus que de la bière. Un délice qui a plus sa place dans les shandy que la bière. Buvabilité extrème.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
I open the beer thinking to myself how much I’m probably not going to like it because it’s sweet. I’ve heard it’s sweet, very sweet; too sweet for so many taste buds out there in the beer-drinking universe. I go in with an unbalanced judgment and once again I discover that I should just really know better than to listen to the outside world.
The pour is a liquid, dark ruby-amber into the glass, true to the name; the foam forming a thin layer over the surface, white as snow, but accented in pink from the reflection of the beer underneath. The aroma is raspberry, some lemon, a suggestion of freshly hewn wood; the brew is fragrant and quite lovely to look at.
The first sip brings that raspberry to the real world, a tartness bellied by lemon and tart apples! The carbonation is excellent and brings the flavors together, creating a fruity circus in my mouth. Not terribly buzzy, not like a soda, but perfect to deliver the tart to my throat and the sweetness to where it sits on my gums waiting to be discovered by the tip of my tongue.
The finish is comfortable, the light body a bit sticky on my lips. A bit of very light caramel appears a few minutes after the sip, most likely there the whole time, but hidden by the strength of the predominant flavors until they had a change to soften.
Quite enjoyable and I have enough to mix with another Founders Brewing in just a short while!

Found this lurking in back of the fridge. Need to try this again on a hot summer day. Pours red/brown, small cream colored head and lots of carbonation. Of course, raspberry to the nose and taste, but a bit to sweet for me.

Bottle. Red with short lasting pink head. Aroma of raspberry. Taste of raspberry with a slightly earthy, yogurty finish. Ok

From a 355ml bottle on 17/3/2015. Pours a clear light red with a small head. Smells like raspberry cordial. Tastes like raspberry cordial. Luckily I don’t mind raspberry cordial. But I’m quite perplexed by the high rating for this on here. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of this brewery, but this barely registers as a beer. The blurb talks about the perfect balance of sweet and tart. I can detect bugger all tart. This is all sugary sweet. If I tasted it blind, I’d question whether it was an alcoholic beverage. Light bodied with modest carbonation. A passable alcoholic soft drink.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
18.7.2014. Dark red colour, no head. Aroma is dominated by raspberry and cherry. Taste is tart with raspberry, cherry and malty backbone. Also bit sweet. However, finish has raspberry and some bitterness, not sweet. Quite good for a fruit beer. Quite rich and full.

Extra from flandersned. From backlog. Pretty, reddish pink. Nose of sweet raspberries, some wheat. Dry and tart raspberry flavors. One dimensional and too sweet for my liking.

Poured from 12oz bottle. The intricacy of the raspberries is quite frankly unassuming. No holds barred is more the motto here with no subtleties about it. A little too convalescent for my tastes.

At last - a proper beer flavoured with appropriately tasting fruit - super easy to drink because the flavour is right, balanced and natural - what a brilliant quaffer if you like this sort of thing. I do for a change although I’m not giving up high octane US style pale ales.
