Not another boring summer wheat beer or lemonade shandyRbus is Founders way to celebrate the seasons warmest months. Optimizing the flavor of fresh raspberries added at multiple stages during fermentation, this stunning berry red masterpiece is the perfect balance of sweet and tart. No question about it, with a hefty malt bill and 5.7% ABV, this beer is 100% Founders.

This is my second or third fruit beer. Make no mistake, at 7% abv this is real beer (unlike a lambic). Very refreshing and has a nice sour, malty, raspberry taste and finish to it. Definitely a unique tasting beer although I don’t think I’ll be rushing out to the liquor store anytime soon at $14 for a six-pack. Still worthy of a try.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber with slight pink head. Aroma is slight oxidated, raspberry, sweet malt and subtle tart notes. Do notice slight alcohol. Taste is really sweet and malty. The raspberries is there, but only very subtle tart fruitiness. Watery body.

Pours reddish copper with a fairly thick ivory head. Raspberry aroma reaches out and touches you from at least a half meter away; closer in, a bit of malt asserts itself. Slightly sour raspberry dominates the flavor, taking up the stage so malt can barely get your attention. I LOVE raspberries, but I like raspberry beer to have a little more of malt and even hops, merci, danke, gracias, arigato. Firm, fizzy texture leaves a decidedly raspberry finish. Hmmmmmm, what would raspberry wine be like?

The City Beer Hall, Albany, NY, draft. Very refreshingly tart. Could chug a gallon. Hardly a beer, but tasty all the same. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Feel: tart, but still sweet with a dry finish. Overall: nicely done beer. Very crisp and refreshing. First drank: home 4/13/15 Vintage: 3/12/15

Nice small white head. Very true raspberry red color. Sweet raspberry whiffs. Great front taste, though sweet, raspberry full throttle from the onset. Just not super keen on the finish; it attempts to mellow the taste from being over sweet throughout and its just OK. Glad to have a bottle, but wouldnt want more than a glass in a sitting.

Definite raspberry, a little sweet for me but it might be OK on a hot day.
