COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not another boring summer wheat beer or lemonade shandy—Rübæus is Founders’ way to celebrate the season’s warmest months. Optimizing the flavor of fresh raspberries added at multiple stages during fermentation, this stunning berry red masterpiece is the perfect balance of sweet and tart. No question about it, with a hefty malt bill and 5.7% ABV, this beer is 100% Founders.

This is my second or third fruit beer. Make no mistake, at 7% abv this is real beer (unlike a lambic). Very refreshing and has a nice sour, malty, raspberry taste and finish to it. Definitely a unique tasting beer although I don’t think I’ll be rushing out to the liquor store anytime soon at $14 for a six-pack. Still worthy of a try.

Bottle. Ruby red with thin head. Aroma of raspberries and some sweetness. Light body, strong raspberry, light/medium tartness, medium sweetness. A little too sweet for me.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. This hazy bright red beer pours with a quickly disappearing white creamy head. It has a sweet, rich raspberry cheesecake flavour, slight tartness and a biscuit and fruity finish.

355mL bottle BB 15/04/2015 Nice clear tarnished red body, holds a white head. Good kick of fresh ripe raspberry on the nose. Not overly complex, a suggestion of malt in there, but mostly fruit. Quite light bodied, somewhat bolstered by a touch of tartness. Soft carbonation. A tad more malt on offer upfront on the palate, provides some backbone & sweetness to the abundance of ripe raspberry flavour. Low bitterness, dry finish. Delightfully refreshing raspberry beer - not artificial as many can be. A bit one dimensional though.

Tasted from a 12oz. bottle. It poured raspberry red with a slightly pinkish bubbly head that was short lived. Big raspberry/cherry aroma and a taste more like raspberry pop than beer. Not bad tasting, but not a beer to me.

Dark reddish colour, quickly dissipation head. Very strong fruity sweet raspberry nose, which continues in flavour. Nice fizzy fine carbonation and tart finish. Good fruity beer which holds up to its name.
