4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUN 8, 2014 12 oz. bottle poured into a shaker. Appearance is a gorgeous dark ruby. There is a very thin red-tinted white head which dissipates quickly. The aroma is very sweet raspberries with a hint of malt. The taste is very similar to the aroma, sweet raspberries and light malt. It reminds me of sparkling juice. This is a very non-traditional beer and is much sweeter and fruitier than I’m used to. However, I absolutely love it. Founders has found a great balance between raspberries and malt.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Appearance: Cloudy orange red with white head
Aroma: Malty with fresh raspberry
Taste: Very sweet and malty with tons of raspberry flavor.. A tad bit flat not that it takes away from the flavor.
Overall: Doesn’t have the sour oakiness of a lambic but still a really nice raspberry beer that you could drink over and over in the summer. .

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
355ml bottle. BB 04/2015. Pours a mid rosé colour. Creamy pink head, good retention and nice lacing. Aroma of raspberry syrup, artificial sweetener and some grain. Initial taste is quite sweet but not in an overpowering way and then some dry tartness. Medium almost winelike body, effervescent, sticky lingering mouthfeel. Gentle alcohol warmth. A pleasantly interesting beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Beer House in Lombard, IL. Served in a pokal glass.
A: That’s definitely a red beer, and not in the "looks amber" sense - much like the difference between someone with natural red hair versus someone who grabbed a bottle of Fire Engine hair dye. It’s obviously more in the latter category. There was no head to speak of when this arrived, and it was also not much in the lacing department.
S: Tart fruit notes swell out of the glass, all berries and grapes, with no real indication that this is an actual beer. Granted, I was in a bar, so that may have affected my olfactory judgment, but this is a bar with no kitchen.
T: The taste category can be readily summed up in two simple words - "wine soda". This seriously drinks like a carbonated red wine, laden with tart berry and grape notes through the entire tasting process. There are some faints hints of malt beneath, and nothing so much as vaguely resembling the echo of a shadow of a whisper of a ghost of any hop presence (which I appreciate).
M: Light and fairly well carbonated.
O: An interesting experience for a fruit beer. I would likely repeat it at some point, though I doubt this would ever become a regular beer for me.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
355ml bottle. Cloudy copper colour with small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Raspberry aroma, raspberry taste. Superbly balance of sweet- and tartness, some slightly biting bitter hop seconds as counterweight to the sweetness as well. If you like raspberry you won’t find any carved out better than this.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
355mL bottle BB 15/04/2015
Nice clear tarnished red body, holds a white head.
Good kick of fresh ripe raspberry on the nose. Not overly complex, a suggestion of malt in there, but mostly fruit.
Quite light bodied, somewhat bolstered by a touch of tartness. Soft carbonation.
A tad more malt on offer upfront on the palate, provides some backbone & sweetness to the abundance of ripe raspberry flavour. Low bitterness, dry finish.
Delightfully refreshing raspberry beer - not artificial as many can be. A bit one dimensional though.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Red brown pour some good foam head. Aroma seedy raspberries. Tastes big raspberries. A bit too sweet, could use more tart - should’ve gone sour with this.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. This hazy bright red beer pours with a quickly disappearing white creamy head. It has a sweet, rich raspberry cheesecake flavour, slight tartness and a biscuit and fruity finish.
