COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not another boring summer wheat beer or lemonade shandy—Rübæus is Founders’ way to celebrate the season’s warmest months. Optimizing the flavor of fresh raspberries added at multiple stages during fermentation, this stunning berry red masterpiece is the perfect balance of sweet and tart. No question about it, with a hefty malt bill and 5.7% ABV, this beer is 100% Founders.

The son of blushing monk. I know it’s only a 6% beer, but I’m really curious how this will change in 6 months, 1 and 2 years. Re-rate coming.

Poured a ruby colour with a white/pink head. Slight aroma of raspberries and malt. The raspberries are quite prominent in the flavor with a dry wheat malt finish. A very sweet FMB. Better than its commercial counterparts.

17-OCT-2014, bottle @home, from Superbest. Red with a pink head that dies quickly. Aroma is raspberries. Sweet raspberries. Taste the same. Lemonade-like and fresh. Sweet but finish is tart. Medium body and carbonation. Quite creamy. Nice little one.

This is a nice fruit beer with actual beer character and tastes like they used actual fruit in the brewing process. It is slightly hazy w/ a sheen of pink to its amber brown color. It’s head is small, of fine bubbles, and fairly short lived. The nose here is malty w/ a touch of raspberry but a bit of tartness once you taste it helps the raspberry to pop. This is full bodied but only slightly sweet w/ a bit of a prickle from the carbonation. I unfortunately picked this up after it’d been in bottles for a while but it seems like age might have done it some good as far as the base beer coming through. I’d like to try this brand fresh sometimes but if you still seeing bottles of this around in the fall, go ahead and pick some up. It’s still good.

From 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear ruby/cerise with a fluffy pink head that subsides pretty quickly. Nose is fresh raspberry with lemon and hints of pepper and flowers. Taste is brightly fresh raspberry throughout although some funk and lemon wander through. Tart, clean finish with a light fruity aftertaste. Good stuff.

Bottle at home. Pretty pink pour. Aroma of raspberries. Very nicely balanced, sweet and tart. Sweeter than tart on the finish. Fruity and perfumey. My wife loved it.

Pours a murky looking light red / purplish color with a little bit of light-pink head. Fruity aroma with light malts and hints of corn. Wow, taste is very well balanced. Nice and sweet with berries and malts and just enough tartness to not make it overwhelming. Very nice. Mouthfeel is close to oily with medium body and avg co2 levels.

12 oz bottle (2014) poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Hazy ruby color with a finger of off-white head. Aromas of big raspberry fruit and juice. Tastes of big raspberry fruit and juice, lightly tart berries, maybe a little earthiness. Medium body with a dry finish. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. Very fruit forward if that’s what you’re looking for in a fruit beer.

@ SBWF 2014: tydlig hallondoft utan att bli för söt. Lätt och frisk smak men kanske lite sliskig i eftersmaken. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
