Not another boring summer wheat beer or lemonade shandy—Rübæus is Founders’ way to celebrate the season’s warmest months. Optimizing the flavor of fresh raspberries added at multiple stages during fermentation, this stunning berry red masterpiece is the perfect balance of sweet and tart. No question about it, with a hefty malt bill and 5.7% ABV, this beer is 100% Founders.

UPDATED: MAY 4, 2014 From a bottle. Pours a red/brown, mild head, distinct raspberry aroma, very prominent sweet flavours almost like a cider with a bitter finish, couldn?t drink a lot but worth a try. Interesting and refreshing

Pouring from bottle its color draws comparison to the flesh color of ruby red grapefruit. Rests a darker shade of red/orange in the glass. Both the smell and taste are of red fruits (wish only makes sense). Flavor is fairly sweet with a slight tart presence. Overall pleasantly refreshing and not over done for beer.

12 oz bottle from Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits - Muscatine. Clear ruby red appearance with a fully dissipating head. Straight up fruity aroma of raspberries, strawberries, etc. Similar flavor, fruity and moderately sweet with a light tart, refreshing finish. Medium body with ample carbonation. Pretty decent fruit beer overall, easy to drink, but probably my least favorite beer from Founders so far (out of 11).

Some raspberries in the aroma, a pinkish hue. The flavor is more sour than sweet at first with some growing sweetness but not too much. overall its pretty good

Has a strong sweet fruity scent, pours a rich ruby amber with white head. Sweet funky fermented raspberries in the front taste, not sour, a rich candied sweetness.

Its a great beer! It pours a rich red color. It smells like fresh berries. It blends in sugar, raspberries, some nuts, touch of cream, and finishes clean. Its not too sweet, and its great. For my own tastes if they could make it a bit more tart like a framboise I might have to give 5 stars.

It pours a close burgundy with a pink head. The aroma has a blast of raspberries, vinegar, salt, and other dry fruits. It definitely has a raspberry flavor with salt, and sweetness. It has a dry finish to it.

Draft. Aroma is dull raspberry with a hint of sweet and sour. Appearance is a bronze red with a light pink head. Taste is raspberry with sweet and sour mixed in. Palate is fruity with a sour hint. Overall, a good beer. Would have personally liked more tart. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
