Thanks to cheeseman for sharing! Maple, caramel, and bourbon on the nose, smooth vanilla and toffee as well. Pours a dark amber red with a thin white head. Very smooth flavor, bourbon, oak, and vanilla, very caramelly with a mild bitterness in the finish. This is a great beer!

Thanks to cheeseman and miketd. This is incredible. Lots of bourbon and maple. Seriously well balanced with huge flavors. Awesome.

Courtesy miketd. Growler. Clear dark amber, tan carbonation. Rich maple and barrel and caramelized malt in the aroma. Flavor adds some cookie malt, some mild smoke and roast, some earth, peat, and a strange melon rind like bittersweetness on the back end. Full body, balanced. Solid brew. Love the maple and scotch ale combo.

Growler, courtesy Cheeseman and miketd. Pours a clear crimson color with a tight, spongy, khaki colored head. Lasting a good while, the foam leaves wet, drooping arches of lacing that slowly meander down the glass. The aroma is quite enticing, starting out with an ultra-malty caramel malt base with hints of earthy cocoa. Oaky, soft bourbon and sweet, nutty maple notes seem the perfect compliment. Flavors are even better, deliciously smooth and slightly warming, with the sour mash bourbon and vanilla-maple just setting off the slightly smoky caramel. Notes of earthy hoppiness add bittering balance. Medium-full, smooth, and velvety, with soft but lively carbonation, the palate is warm, but not hot. It’s just a delicious slow sipper. Awesome beer.

Growler thanks to the Cheese Man. Fizzy and pours brown and bright amber in the light. One of the best noses I’ve ever had the pleasure to smell. Lots of bourbon, some maple definitely, hints of caramel and oak. The caramel comes out in the flavor, whereas the whiskey notes, while still present subside. Hints of a funkiness behind it. Very warming. An absolutely wonderful beer.

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2010 On tap at Rozi’s. Wonderful balance to a barrel aged version of the dirty bastard. Dark amber color. It does not overpower your palate, but it makes you aware of what is going on (maple and bourbon).

On tap at Rozi’s pours cloudy dark brown color with light tan head. Aroma is bourbon, oak, and maple. Opulent mouthfeel. Flavor follows the nose and has a nice bourbon compliment to the base beer. Sweet caramel flavors lend to the bourbon and finishes with a semi-sweet maple flavor. All the flavors meld together nicely and not one out does the other. There is a smoothness to this beer that makes me want more. Outstanding beer. One of the best I’ve ever had.

Snifter at Founders. Poured hazy dark brown color with a minimal fizzy light brown head that mostly diminished with little lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt, wood and maple aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted sweet malt and bourbon flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where exceeded with a standout beer.
