Sample at the brewpub. Clear copper color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, citrus and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of grapefruit, herbal hops and caramel malt. The finish is tropical fruit and hops. Pretty good overall.

AWISLguy (2589) - Wisconsin, USA - OCT 11, 2016
On tap at Champps in Brookfield. Golden orange pour, off-white head. Aroma is very dank - grapefruit & grapefruit zest, pine, sweet toffee. Taste is grapefruit and pine on a sweet toffee backbone. Over dry hopped to the garlicky point making it rough. Medium bodied. The blend is solid but not great. Some alcohol presence. Finishes more bitter than bittersweet. Solid tasty brew, a bit overdone? 13.8

5 oz. pour, on tap at the brewery’s taproom in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Consumed on 9-25-16. Bright clear gold to bronze. Moderate amount of long-lasting, nearly white head. Nice shade of head, and I like the brightness. Malty aroma. Honeydew melon scents and honey. Refreshing smell. Sweeter and more floral than ideal for me in the style, but the smell is nice. Sweet, juicy, cotton candy flavor. Spicy finish. Much too sweet for my tastes. Dries and improves as my palate gets used to it, however. Boozy. Full body. Frothy in palate. A lot of flavor here. I wasn’t thrilled with it on first few sips, but it captured me on ounce two. I still don’t love it, especially within the style, but I do like it.

haukur (1800) - Reykjavik, ICELAND - OCT 5, 2016
Draft. Orange looking with a small head. Loads of grapefruit in the aroma, some citrus. Resiny, on the drier side. Super crushable for a 10%+ beer. Goes down way to easily

Draft. Poured clear dark golden color with an average frothy off-white head that lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex hop aroma. Medium to full body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a solid beer.

rosenbergh (10649) - Tampere, FINLAND - SEP 18, 2016
Draught at the Founders Brewing Co, Grand Rapids, MI. Clear deep golden color with a small white head. Sweet fruity hoppy aroma with caramel malt, deepness and mild bitterness. The flavor is sweet fruity and resiny hops, bitterness, deepness, alcohol and malt. Strong. Rather easy booziness for a 10.8% brew. But the alcohol doesn't get unnoticed. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Lots of pine and citrus and kiwi on the nose. Just as complex on the palate, but really slick at this gravity. Still a full-flavored and yet delicate IIPA.

Bright transparent orange color with barely a head, just a thin white ring and no lacing. Aroma has huge tropical, citrus fruits. Strong piney hops as well. Smells so good. Flavor is citrusy and resinous. Full flavor but not a bitter hop bomb. Super easy to drink, and zero alcohol presence.
