aarossell (151), Grandville, Michigan, USA Jul 7, 2007 Dark, murky brown / orange. Founder’s hop / malt flavor...but a bit more...bitter / grassy. Brown ale standard, that doesn’t reach Founder’s quality standards. Don’t bother.
alexsdad06 (666), Ohio, USA Mar 30, 2008 Draft @ Founders. Pours a clear brown color with a minimal off white head. The aroma is caramel malt, fruits, bread, and light floral hops. The flavor is more caramel malts, chocolate, light fruit, and the slightest hint of nuts. Light bitterness to the finish. Medium bodied. Not a bad brown ale. Whooo! Mmm... Rick Flair tie in... Anyway, this was a decent brown. Taste of bread, toffee, and peanuts. Slight bitter end with a tiny twang of alcohol that rests on your tongue. Good body. ryan (1707), Beltsville, Maryland, USA Oct 6, 2007 MBGF07. Dark brown body with a medium beige head, lasting. The aroma is cola, caramel, toffee and grapes. Flavor is caramel, light berry, nuts and grapes. Medium body is very soft with dense carbonation. Solid brown ale, not sure I understand many of these other ratings. kp (6200), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 07/21/2007

StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Aug 18, 2007 Tap @ GTMW. Hazed and caramel chocolate in color with a khaki tan head. Maris otter and hazelnuts meet brown sugar and woody shavings in the nose to do little to increase the allure of the ale. Light bodied and flavored, mildly sweetened with brown bread. Diluted caramel ribbons attempt to give traits to the blasé beer. Harshly carbonated and medium bodied at best, finish with a nutty edge amidst chocolate and pecan shavings to boot.
