3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Blaze312 (132) - Ann Arbor, USA - OCT 21, 2009
On tap at founders. Golden color with small head. Hops, and spice shine through on both aroma and taste. I like the spice rack attack better then this, but this still isn’t bad.

courtesy of badnewsbeers, thanks! aroma has a bit of sweet heat, smells like a ’fireball’ candy. the taste def has a consistent burn in the back of your throat, overall not unpleasent, just odd for beer of course. i’ve had most chile beers on the market and this is by far the best one i’ve had. if you pretend you just ate hot food and are drinking a plain pale ale it’s spot on. almost feels like its cooling the burn from the last sip, but instead just making it worse!

Draft @ EBF. Another pepper beer left for the end of the session. Golden pour with white head. Pepper dominates the aroma. Flavor is hot, not as bad as the ithaca Hot & Sour...

12oz handbottle from badnewsbeer. Golden color with a white head. Hot pepper aroma that overwhelms any other aroma. Very hot, really harsh on the back of the throat, very hot in the belly, interesting. (1251)
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 BeerBunker (709) - Burbank, Illinois, USA - MAY 1, 2010
Pour from a growler. Pours orange with a small foamy white head. Aroma is of malt, pepper, hops, grass, and spice. It smells hot, if that makes sense. Taste is of grassy hops, spice, and some citrus...all with a sharp pepper burn behind them. Has a dry malt backbone, surrounded by the pepper burn. Lingering hop taste...with a big pepper burn. I was surprised at how well the hop character and the pepper burn managed to balance. As strange as it seems, I could session this beer. But that’s because I love peppers.

12oz Bottle. Thanks Sean!
Oh ho ho. Pepper-beer, my long time nemesis and foe. Usually, you taste repulsive, disgusting, and painful. I think you should be reserved for cooking, practical jokes, and the follies of amateur brewers. Let’s see what you’ve got this time! Nose me up in fresh serrano pith, only slightly rubbery and mostly fresh and green. Pungent. Colored a beautiful and stunning amber-orange, clear with a rim of white. Immeadiate foam and the bite. Strong, snapping fresh thai chili and serrano. Anaheim flavor and cayenne pain, with a soft and supportive malt base beneath. Not overwhelming, but constantly reminding me of your capsaicin fangs. You’re lucky, this time, pepper-beer. You’re going to pair very well the Lebanese potatoes on the stove and the fact that you’re fairly balanced, relatively reserved, and for your style, graceful.

This pored a golden yellow color with a white head. Aroma was pure peppercorns and nothing else. Flavor was coors light with a few tablespoons of black pepper dumped in. Just bad.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Tmoney99 (7301) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 9, 2010
Draft at brewpub. Poured clear copper color with an average white fizzy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy pepper and small hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate roasted peppers and small bitter flavor and medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. More balanced spicy beer.
1.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20 Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - MAR 8, 2010
Draft at EBF, these ratings are a joke right am i the only one who thought this was a complete novelty beer, in no way could one (at least myself) consume any significant quality of this beer and enjoy it. Pours a pale golden body with a white head. Huge spicy hot, very hot sauce, loads of Heat units, literally it was uncomfortable to drink. I hated this, i’m not big on spicy but dam i have had many pepper beers before that were enjoyable and i don’t like this at all. I love founders, but dam did i hate this.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 PilsnerPeter (2959) - Flushing, New York, USA - MAR 4, 2010
EBF 2010 Session One: Crisp golden pour with an off white film of head. Very peppery aroma- really nails the natural rich pepper oils of jalapenos or whatever was used. Hot body with a smooth burn along with the actual pepper flavor. Biscuity dry undertones of pils like malts with a long spicy peppery back. Nice and hot with the actual pepper flavor. Nice, if you like hot.
