COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This bold, imperial brown ale gets its body from a team of malts including Caramel malt for sweetness, flaked barley for dense foam, a bit of Chocolate malt for its deep color and Aromatic and Munich malts to add even more depth. German and Perle hops add a touch of bitterness to balance the malty sweetness. The addition of rich Sumatra coffee takes this perfectly balanced imperial brown ale to a decadent level.

Bottle - Cola pour with a filmy light tan head. Nose is caramel mixed with nutty, light roast coffee. There’s a little milkiness and vanilla in there too. Taste is similar, with the coffee and roasty malt taking center stage and the vanilla milkiness on the finish. It’s a little bitter for my tastes and the 9% heat really comes through on the finish. But it’s pleasant and isn’t a style you see every day. I love seeing beers like this become shelf beers--what a lovely beer world we live in!

Taas perusteosta vähän parempaa tekemistä. Kahvia on kesäksi liikaa, mutta hyvä on.

Sample at a Systembolaget tasting. Strong malty smell of coffee, mocha and chocolate. Lots of coffee in the taste and in the background roasted malts and caramel.

On tap at Brunzies. Nice sweet coffee aroma, like a piece of coffee candy - very nice aromatics. Dark brown clear with thin creamy lacing off-white head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Sweet with tons of coffee flavor and a sugary pop. Bit nutty sweet coffee finish and lingering sweet coffee after. Almost cloying.

Pours a finger and half of tan head on a black body. Aroma is coffee and milk. Taste mild coffee, roasted malt and a little burnt wood. Texture is crisp. Enjoyable.
