COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Founders most complex, most innovative, most feared and yet most revered ale produced. Massive in complexity the huge malt character balances the insane amount of alpha’s used to create this monster. More IBU’s than any brewery has documented, more than you would believe and dry-hopped for twenty-six days straight with a combination of 10 hop varieties. Dangerously drinkable and deliciously evil. We dare you to dance with the Devil. 112 IBUs

I don’t understand why this is a 99pt. beer? Please tell me. Aroma is of sweet malt then some unrefined hop blend. Taste is sweet (like malt extract) with most of the hops buried under the syrup. Hops do not shine in any aspect of this beer. Syrupy and under attenuated. Finish is slightly bitter. Maybe better aged and used as a makeshift Barleywine of sorts. Sorry, this is my least favorite Founders beer.

12 oz bottle poured into a tulip. Clear dark amber with just over a finger of off-white head. Aromas of big malt right off the bat, citrus, toast. Tastes of citrus, malt, caramel, toast, some booze. Medium body with a dry and sticky finish. Medium carbonation. Semi-malty mouthfeel. Tastes more like a boozy amber ale.

Pours a hazy amber with a minimal head. Nose is a bit funky - can't really place it, but I don't really like it. Taste is somewhat sweet - caramel, followed by booze and hops. It is somewhat syrupy. This is ok, but definitely not worth the price. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Founders Devil Dancer Triple IPA has a thin, off-white head, a hazy, yet brilliant, rust-orange appearance with some lacing left on the glass. The aroma is strong and impressive- sweet malt, fruity (apricot) hops, and bread crust. Taste is of those elements, with some not particularly strong bitterness and some noticeable alcohol pickup. Mouthfeel is medium, slick, and there is some underlying chalk on the tongue. Founders Devil Dancer finishes semi-wet, boozy, and fairly harsh. RJT

Pours a dark amber with some red. Little carbonation and no head. Light hops aroma, slightly floral. Very strong alcohol flavor (12%!) with minor malt taste. Way too strong, alcohol taste kills it.

On tap, poured into a snifter. The initial aroma is a warm caramel syrup with some sweet orange, tangerine, and grapefruit citrus. There’s also melon, floral notes, pine, spice, and spruce. There’s a touch of a whiskey / scotch aroma buried in there as well. It pours a rich, dark, slightly hazy orange brown color with a white, soapy bubble head. It leaves behind a really light lace, as it reduces down to a thick, soapy ring with a dusty surface. It’s highly bitter with a medium high sweetness to support it. The full body is thick and chewy with a light, small-bubble carbonation. A toasty caramel, pine, bread crust finish off the drink with a bright, sweet, juicy citrus. A pine and citrus peel flavor lingers for awhile in strength, but it feels clean.

Poured from bottle to glass. Copper red hue with fizzy tan head that dissipated to a thin ring. Aroma is malt, spicy, ethanol, pine, melon, honey. Mouthfeel is nice with a full body and crisp carbonation. Taste is sweet initially with a nice hop bitterness in the following and a hot ethanol finish. Overall this is a nice triple IPA, however, it is a bit too hot in the finish. It is also quite dark for a "pale ale" and would be far better categorized as an imperial IRA.

This was very, very strong, but not in a hoppy way as I expected. Poured a real dark red color with massive malt flavors. There was a nice floral nose, but it was a bit too syrupy and maltish.

On draft. Aroma of scotch and alcohol. Flavors of cherries, dark chocolate and plenty of booze. Boom.
