Pale golden coloured body with a small white cap topping the beer. Aroma of lemons and wheat with a slight amount of coriander seed. Light-bodied; Somewhat sweet flavour showing some of the malt and a small amount of the sweetness. Aftertaste is based on the citrus and wheat flavours, and leaves the mouth dry. Overall, not the greatest offering, but nice to try! I sampled this on ’pseudo-draught’ at the Old Dominion Brew Festival 2004 on 27-June-2004 in Ashburn, Virginia.

This beer was actually a dunkelweizen when I sampled it. Mostly clear, copper body. Aroma is of warm peanut butter, bananas, and hints of cocoa and clove. The flavor has a nutty, malty base with banana esters and some tart lemon and tea-like acidity.

Hazy, light nut brown color, some froth in the head. Lemon, wheat, big banana, and plastic aroma. Flavors of banana are more prominent. Quite smooth palate, not much bite to the carbonation, and it gets a little thin/watery. This sort of lives and dies by the banana--I happen to like banana, and so it lives. (on tap at brewpub)

On tap at Old Dominion Brew Fest ’05. Cloudy bright yellow orange, small white head. Banana and yeast in the nose. Flavor has notes of banana, clove and wheat. Pretty sweet. Light body with very little carbonation.

Like most of Founder’s beers that I tried, this was pleasant, but boring. Basic hefeweizen taste, but essentially forgettable. Uninspired.

Cloudy ginger/gold colour. There’s some clove and vanilla in the flavour. Citric, slightly sharp flavour, with some spice. In common with a number of the other Founders beer I tried, the body is not that full but this was a perfectly decent brew. On tap at the Founders, Alexandria.

Had this on draft at Founders’ on 11/21/04. Hazed gold. Nose is light citrus(lemon zest), wheat and light yeast. Taste is lemony with wheat, light yeast and some grassy notes throughout. Body is light and refreshing. Finish is more wheat citrus and yeast. Light sweetness coming through.
