COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This area is typically researved for companies to tell you all about their history and how far back their heritage stretches. You know what else stretches back? Patio chairs.

Well, at least the reclinable ones. Besides, you can’t drink history. Feel free to use that one.

Note: Brewed in the UK for Diageo Canada.

500 ml can from LCBO. Pours a clear golden orange colour with small white head. Aroma is gently sweet apple and light earthy skins. Flavour is modestly sweet green apple with some earthy skin character. Straightforward but pleasant enough.

Pours a clear medium amber with a fluffy one finger white head diminishing gradually to a thin skim. Nose is sweet apples, some grape and skins, slightly spicy. Taste follows suit, mildly sweet and finishing tart. Mouth feel is medium-bodied, with moderate sustained carbonation and decently dry. Surprisingly decent for an industrial cider. Certainly better than the Magners that Bulmers also makes - certainly the Foundry is not as sweet, and is missing the slightly metallic note I didn’t like in the Magners. That being said, it is what it is, and suffers badly by comparison to artisanal ciders like the Domaine de la Minotière Cidre Fermier Bio Brut Normandy Cider I reviewed a few months ago.

2014-08-08. Dark yellow body small white foam fades. 3+ Aroma is sweet and appley with light tannic skins notes. Flavour is sweetish, apples, light skins and tannic notes. Average bodied palate, low carbonation. Dull, but relatively drinkable for a mainstream cider. Can from the LCBO, Toronto

[Can (500ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jercraigs & mabel -- c/o j&m] Pours a slightly hazy gold with an average size semi-lasting frothy white head. Aroma of grapes, apples and sugar. Flavour of lightly tart apples along with some sugary sweetness. Average bodied, slightly oily mouthfeel. Passable, that’s it.

500ml can. First cider rating. Crisp, sweet, a little tart. Finish is not dry. Refreshing. About what I’d expect, I guess. A pretty good beverage.

My first ever cider rating, so I don’t have much of a reference point. Generally fizzy, tastes a lot like tart apples. Good mouthfeel actually, decent sweet finish. Not earth-shattering, but OK for a try.

I got a buddy who loves beer but can drink it cuz of a severe intolerance that makes him super sick. So he drinks whiskey (yay!), gluten-free beer (boo) or cider (iffy). And this cider is somewhere on the tightrope of iffy. A bit better than the ginger ale apple concrete style of many brands, but far from the artisanal cider that I admire. I want character in my drinks & this doesn’t have that. But it is a decent final drink after a night of drinking.

Rating #867 - Notes from previous tastings. Have had this on tap and from tallboy cans. Clear, pale yellow colour, fairly carbonated. Aroma is sweet apples. Taste is pleasant, not unbearingly sweet. The best of the beasts.

DuffMan (6796) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 3, 2013
Can. Dark golden, medium carbonation. Aroma is lightly spiced apples, some gipsum. The palate is fairly macro-cider-typical, but lighter on the syrup/sweet factor and finishing very dry. So extra points for actually not disgusting me, but still not my type of cider.
