A decent porter without too man outstanding features. Flavor is slightly sweet with a dry finish. Caramel and dark chocolate dominate.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Location: 12 oz bottle from Andy, 8/2/14
Aroma: The aroma is a mix of sweet caramel/toffee, coffee, and roasted malts
Appearance: It pours a muddy brown color with a thin head and quite minimal lace
Flavor: In the flavor the coffee comes out more, while the sweetness mutes a bit compared to the nose
Palate: It has a light-medium body with a smooth, clean feel, soft carbonation, and a roasted finish
At first I thought this one was going to lean sweet, but the flavor is actually much drier than youíd expect from the nose. It gets a hint watery though, unfortunately, but it is still a pretty solid beer.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
An average brew from fountain square. In general not impressed by their brews. Much better options exist. This doesnít taste like a porter however.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 ounce bottle. Thin body evident in pour and taste. Thin head that quickly fades. Upfront coffee taste. But I wish this beer had more body.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Poured a clear dark brown color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate roasted dark malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is the good brew.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
tap at the brewpub on Sep 1, 2013 - Pours up a medium amber color. Itís a light color for a porter. The aroma is led by roasted malt and includes some coffee. It tastes of dark roast malt with mild coffee notes. Itís light bodied with a moderately bitter finish. Itís alright though Iíd like to see more body and flavor intensity in a porter.

Growler courtesy of StFun, thanks man! Dark brown pour with just a tiny bit of off-white head. Nice roasty aromas of coffee and chocolate. Flavor is similar. Fairly light mouthfeel which makes it easy to drink. A good example of the style.

12oz bottle. Clear red brown color. Minimal off-white head. Little reaches and dots of lace. Good chocolate aroma, coffee. Light bitter, moderate sweet. Smooth crisp lighter carbonation, lightly dry finish. Lighter to medium body. Slightly thin body, but itís refreshing and easy drinking, aroma is very enjoyable.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle to pint. Looks solid; a semi-transparent amberish brown with thin light beige head that quickly dissipates into lacing. Smells of dark malt with notes of chocolate and roasted coffee. Tastes like it smells with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. Not too complex, but decent nonetheless.

Draft @ brewery. Earthy coffee and mocha aroma. Deep chestnut with a small beige head. Roasty fresh coffee flavor. Body on the light side of medium, soft carbonation.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz bottle from Big Red Liquors in Carmel, Indiana. Beautiful crystal clear ruby/brown color with a very thin veil of light tan head. Roasted malt and wood aromas with a bit of chocolate. Some of that chocolate comes through lightly as milk and bittersweet. Perfect roasted grain flavor that expands through the sip with a fresh brewed coffee note. Light sweetness with a root beer component which is balanced by just enough earthy hop bitterness. Great roasted, woody aftertaste that lasts and ties up the taste perfectly. Thereís a really elegant mix of flavors and the balance is awesome. I rate this very highly as it seems to match (to my limited knowledge) the profile of an English porter which is hard to find these days. Excellent!
